I have been following this thread right from page one and have seen the zealousness many people are showing concerning this business. This business is a lucrative one but you must be ready for the risks i.e accident of vehicle( not always) shortage sometimes when the market is flooded, or when the goods is not quickly partronized as a result of flooding etc. These should be considered before going into the business. But aside these the business is so sweet. That is my hubby business but he is majorly into Tomatoes

Pepper business is a very good business. I did it once for my late mom when I was in jss2. I followed a man who is in the business to Kaduna to get some bags for my mom. I got about 10bags of DRIED pepper and immediately the goods landed it was sold off. We made a whole lot of gain. We did not continue because of my schilling. I'm thinking of starting this business all over again. Please who knows bout dried pepper business? Come and help us. My location is not Lagos but Enugu

Correct questions,. Let me add so she can answer us all. Thanks Lady for the previous answers I can now take you serious because its something you have done before or currently doing.

Now the risk I have I have identify is the middle men the Hausa sellers 1) I will like us to include there pay per bag into the overhead cost, so we can identify our actual possible profit. And how are we sure they won't run with the money? Or will they pay it into an account ? Can they be that reliable? Do they have a union for control and identification? Also is the business seasonal ? Is it only pepper one can bring in? What of yam, tomatoes, and other related cash crops easily soured in the North ?

You can buy a small bag of pepper for #1500 in Azara market Kaduna road, and sold it's sold at the rate of #6500 in Lagos, a J5 bus can carry up-to 90 bags at one trip and they charge #110,000 per trip. Let's calculate.
#1500 * 90 = #135,000
#135,000 + #110,000 = #245,000

A bag to be sold for #6,500
#6,500 * 90 = #585,000

So.. #585,000 - #245,000 = #340,000.

Bro, # 300,000 is sure per trip.

There are many cheap stuffs you can buy from the north and resale in Lagos. E.g you can get matured goats for #4,000 each and resale for #12k or 11k.
The good thing is that you don't sell by yourself, dilaali (Hausa dealers) are readily available to sell for you while they charge a token from you.

You may think you're too big for these businesses but I bet the profit is cool.
