The 2018 FIFA World Cup could have come and gone but its memories are still with us and will linger for long.

From own goals to penalties to the introduction of the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) and goal line technology, the 2018 edition was surely fun filled and entertaining.

Broken records:

*Most own goal in any football world cup - 12 own goals
*Most penalties in a single World Cup.
*First manager to appear in four World Cups with the same team - Oscar Tabarez
*Oldest player to feature in a World Cup game - 45 years and 161 days
*Youngest African goal scorer at a World Cup - 19 years and 236 days
*Longest start to a World Cup without a 0-0 draw - 37 games
*Oldest player to score a World Cup hat-trick - 33 years and 131 days
*Most goal by a nation in the world cup history - Brazil
*The smallest country to take part in world cup final- Iceland
*Most set piece goal.
