Mahindra is the fastest growing automotive brand in SA...... Honestly they offer superb vehicles but unfortunately the after sales service in South Africa is not great..... Although must be said the automotive after sale service in SA in general isnt great!!

Why is India buying AH from the US when it has it's own AH. Wouldn't it be smarter to invest that money upgrading India's AH?

For we the 3 wise men from the east allow me the honour to plant a teepee for all of us so that we can palaver over the issue.

R we all seated and comfy cool

Long story short I don't have the answer grin grin grin grin

I am not a member of the airforce committee nor of the defence procurement committee nor of the defence research and development committee of the said country and therefore cannot give the reasons behind the procurement.

Anyways from what I know little bit from here and there I can give some speculative reasons

1. Access to doctrines and SOPs which involves high level of networking , sensor fusion etc etc . Ind.. does not have combat experience with AH , Americans do.

2. Leverage the operational experience on a high end AH into the locally developed AH for even better operational capabilities.

3. Leverage the understanding of the technology associated with the high end AH to better ones own technology and develop comparable analogues for ones own platforms. Also it means that the development cycle of any new systems will be shortened.

4. Leverage the offset clause to improve the domestic capability related to production technologies. This is the single most important factor for the successful role out of any weapon system.

3 Ind... private companies have set up factories with the latest tools and facilities to manufacture the assemblies etc of Apache from Boeing. These same companies will in near future leverage the same facilities and production technologies for ones own local aircrafts and helicopters.

Etc
Etc
Etc

And the most important reason

LCH is a light category dedicated attack helicopter.

Rudra is a medium category attack helicopter.

Apache 64E is a heavy category dedicated attack helicopter.

All the 3 AHs have their own roles and place in the order of battle , they will complement each other and ride on each other's strength and cover each other's weakness.

So that's the main speculative reason wink

Altogether between the 3 approx 300+ attack helicopters will be in service in the future

Also there r whispers of development of a heavy AH so the induction and experience of Apache will definitely help if the development of the same is sanctioned

No

Lol u looking to give trump a heart attack grin grin grin

The proppsal of moving the f16 production line to Ind... is a big joke which will not be entertained

All components will be manufactured in US while they expect the Ind... to screw all of it together in Ind...

What's the benefit for Ind... They already know how to screw things in place. grin

Seriously that's a big ass con job LM is trying to pull on the Ind... grin grin grin

Let me answer this question metaphorically

Anything in the realm of future tense is a matter of probabilities grin grin grin

Anyways heard wispers of a probability of a JV for development of coaxial pusher prop very high speed helicopter.

Damn I hate probabilities grin

Lol same as that of my thoughts on a pretty vixen with lot of potential yet untamed as of now grin

The definitive powerplant needs to come online before the intended features of su57 can be fully worked on and exploited

Plus need boatloads of money
