You're wrong

Publicly quoted companies don't run like a one man's business. Mark cannot dip his hands in Facebook's purse simply because he "owns" it. Some other big shareholders of Facebook must decide who eats from the big pot. Facebook is not a one man's business, fact that he developed it doesn't mean it owns it exclusively.


Another local example you can relate with is UBA. Tony Elumelu is not the exclusive owner of UBA. He can neither dictate what happens exclusively with UBA nor withdraw money at will. Doing so can land him in jail. UBA belongs to a group of Shareholders, of which Tony owns the largest. Being the largest shareholder automatically makes him the Chairman though.

Familiarize yourself with annual reports of big corporations for better understanding. Most of the people we call owners are Founders/Chairman. There are other "co-owners" as well.
