The governor of Lagos state, Akinwunmi Ambode, has announced plans to transform the Maracan football ground in Ajegunle into a multipurpose sports complex. During a visit to the area, he said ”The Maracana football ground in Ajegunle will be transformed into a multipurpose sports complex which will include a football pitch, volley ball court, event centre and facilities for other sports and recreational activities.”

He also had a dialogue with stakeholders on the Apapa traffic gridlock. Posting on Instagram, Ambode said,

”Today’s dialogue with stakeholders on the Apapa traffic gridlock offered a rare opportunity to address the root causes of the problem.

As we create the road map for a permanent solution to the Apapa challenge, I urge all stakeholders to be committed to this cause. We will work with the Federal Government and other relevant stakeholders to return normalcy to Apapa and environs.”

You mean the type of basic infrastructures the likes of PDP provided for us for 16years

The last time I checked, Lagos state has some of the best basic infrastructure facilities in Nigeria. Yet, it has always been under ACN/APC

Transformation of the Maracana field Tolu is a very good development. As a born bred Ajegunle guy, I remember when we used to "boma" from Trinity secondary school to Tolu to play football and under coconut bridge to catch epiya fish. Me sef don street small o. #memories. I remember my teaching practice at Creek high school Tolu in 2003.
That second part was what I fancy more. To find the solution to this trailers issues, all the stakeholders (shipping companies, terminal operators, NPA, security agencies, freight forwarders and truck owners and unions) will first have to sit down with the government and employ the best way to implement the permanent solution because it is only the stakeholders that know the solution to the problem and it is known. It will take at least 2 years if all parties put it serious efforts to what needs to be done.
I wrote in a thread about this issue that Osinbajo cannot implement the 72 hours clearance of these trucks off the highways. The problem is bigger than him that method is not sustainable except the Lagos ports will shutdown completely.

Wike has also converted every space in every street to sport centres but it barely makes news. Now, this mofo will promise to do it and it will make front page news.Bus stop governor
