Truth be told, this is the only Senate that has not been an appendage of the executive or judiciary which people are used to. This is the only Senate that executive has also refused to bribe them but gave them free hand to do their work.
This issue of padding of budget has been there for ages but because of collaboration between executive and legislature they've been covering it but today the game is over. Any little thing, they expose themselves.
I wish we should not go back to our vomit of rubber stamp national assembly.

I believe the President and subsequent ones have learnt there lesson. Don't ever allow senators to pick their leaders by themself, don't allow neutrality in the Senate else, they frustrate your effort for their personal gain.

Young man, our constitution does not make National Assembly an appendage of the executive. It's a separate arm of government and they have constitutional power to choose their leader without interference from any quarter. The practice of president remoting the Assembly is unconstitutional and aberration.

Let me teach you a little about loans.....you are supposed to maintain a debt-to-income ratio of 30 to 40% (typically 33.3) above which repayment is very difficult no matter your good intentions. So when you go to the bank they calculate this and tell you the max you can get. I don't need to tell you the world bank crosses this threshold in order to hold 3rd world's economies to ransom. As a lecturer and BPE insider working with DMO, they strove to keep this threshold. That's why (until Buhari came in and started borrowing again) Nigeria's GDP to loan ratio has historically been low.

Now the debt stock data released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) revealed that Lagos, has the largest debt burden among all states. The state’s debt stock is 35.61% of the country's foreign borrowings. Kaduna (5.79%), Edo (5.64%), Cross River 4.08% and Enugu 3.23%. Also don't forget Cross River was oil producing but still has less than Kaduna. But Kaduna's population (assumimg, GDP per person) is just over 3% of the Nigerian population (7/196 million).

Now we all know Lagos has multiple revenue streams, direct or derivative (ports, intl airports, property/personal and corporate tax etc...virtually all the banks have HQs in Lagos and pay most taxes there etc)

But tell me what Kaduna has, to be able to repay old loans comfortably and take on new loans ($350m or NGN122billion or more than half of it's 2018 budget of NGN216billion)

Now to LSL's net worth, have you ever heard of how much a first bank ED, CEO takes home annually, and the amount paid to them for profit sharing and retirement? I can assure you he can comfortable reach the 5billion Mark even before joining the CNN.

There is difference between what is ideal and what is obtainable. Whatever they thought you in school is different from what happen in real life most times. Obasanjo and co, decides who become senate President, they anoint any of their loyal boys and push him there to champion their interest but PMB allow a free and fair process for things to be done properly but look at where it has brought us. Nigerians don't like due process, that's the truth
