Buhari got 1.6m votes in Kano in 2011 without Kwakwasor with the party he formed five months before the election

ANPP got 500000 + votes

PDP got 400000 + with Rabiu

APc is the fusion of CPC, ANPP , ACN and NPDP

He got 1.9 m with Rabiu

CPC had no local structure nothing whatsoever in 2011 unlike now that they have the state governor with two senators and local structures

in the North west, there are other states too

There's Niger
There's kastina
There's Sokoto
There's is kebbi state

And don't forget that no Nigerian president have ever lost his own region in an election

Buhari only won Benue by around 20000 or so before, so a lost there now won't mean the end of the world.

@ Plateau

Jonathan only won by a couple of thousands, he didn't floor Buhari

Against a popular northerner like tambuwal or kwakwanso, Buhari won't won't get block votes like he did in 2015. Buhari n APC main fear now is that if northern votes n south votes are shared, Then Buhari will lose the election because he will get less than 10% of Votes from eastern nigeria.

You are also writing all these thinking Buhari is an outsider. He is now the president for God sake. He is the incumbent not the outside contender anymore.

In fact, this will be the first time Buhari will contesting an election from a position of strength.

Once the defections from apc to pdp are complete just like the defections from pdp to apc some years back, Buhari will lose.


Buhari is only extremely popular in NE n NW only wen he's contesting against a southerner. Against yaradua his fellow fulani man from an influential family, He lost many NE n NW States.

In the NC Buhari has never been popular and with the unabated killings, Buhari will lose more ground in the middle belt.


In SW, It's hard for a candidate to get block votes because the SW is no longer homogenous. It will likely be shared.

In eastern nigeria, everyone knows Buhari will get around 8% n thus a disaster.

U keep missing the point, Nobody is saying Buhari will lose the NW, instead PDP candidate will gain a huge chunk of Votes there, As much as 35% or 40%. Against Tambuwal, Buhari won't win Sokoto.

If Tambuwal gets 40% votes in NE n NW, 50% of SW n NC n then 92% in eastern nigeria, He will win.

All the analysis don't put into consideration the fact that Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Delta and most of the SE states were rigged in favour of PDP. Ballot box stuffing was the order of the day. This time around, it would be different.
