The Deputy Senate President, Sen. Ike Ekweremadu Saturday described the recent defection of federal lawmakers and Benue State Governor, Mr. Samuel Ortom to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as a genuine movement to rescue Nigeria.

Ekweremadu berated those personalising the mass defection across the federation from the All Progressives Congress (APC), insisting that it was no longer about anybody’s individual political ambition.

He expressed the view during in Enugu yesterday, noting that what had happened so far was “a tip of the iceberg” as so many other top political office-holders would soon dump the ruling party.
