I hear if you are updating and network goes off, you will damage your phone and all that jazz just makes me avoid updates.

Best to use wifi in downloading updates or upgrades. Yes they are 2 different things.

If the network interrupts and the file becomes corrupt during download but it somehow downloads 100%, you could damage your phone and need to flash the os all over.
