Of course. What did you expect before? You put your full name on display on social media and you don't think that's enough for someone to start a hacking process on you?

I just laugh at people who put their lives on social media. Most Nigerian social media users can easily be traced to their places of work, homes or places of worship.

This guy is right, the strategy was used for someone close to me. Unfortunately, it worked and #108,000 was gone. What surprised me was that Trucaller showed the number belong to First Bank yes First Bank. They have insider because they will give you details beyond what you can doubt. Beware Everyone

Op thank you a lot for the info. But looking at it from another angle these fraudsters get there information from insider within the bank staff.

Many of these bankers are the one aiding the fraudsters, although some of them are nice.

If possibly go to the bank yourself to verify

amateurs. from the union Bank message, you can see that the message is fake or a scam. no capitalization, and banks would always advice their customers to always keep their credit card details private.

Same thing I told my friend yesterday that some shady bankers are involved in this scheme, the scammers can not possibly know all ones correct details without an insider.

A real bank staff won't dishout your info. You'd have to confirm it by telling them the info. Also, a real bank staff won't be calling a customer for such reason.

Out of every 10 people one person will fall for this.

The part where the scammer says "kindly hold the card in your hands" was funny sha cheesy
Thats what they always say.

I get this kind of calls almost on a regular basis. I enjoy sending them fake details and when they asked me to cross check, I send them an entirely different details again. I keep doing this till they get provoked and end the chat.

Be CAREFUL with who you deal at any bank. Always take note of the name of the clerk serving you and make sure they know you did it.

Years ago, my boss arrived to Lagos from one other state capital. On his way to the final destination in Ogun state, he withdrew some 1.2 million from the bank (can't remember which bank that was). Half way to the destination, our company driver noticed someone is following them. Gangsters stopped their car, beat the driver, took the money and the car and left. So my oga and the driver had to use keke to the final destination. The driver had no chance of knowing about the money, only the bank clerk could alert the gangsters.

Yes, most times there is an employee of a bank who help fraudsters in their operations. Many times, the fraudsters are bankers that have been sacked or made redundant.

Well, what I think is that some bank officers may be selling private infos to these fraudsters because the accuracy of some of their words sometimes leave one wondering how they know about it in the first place.

I swear to God ,this is what they are trying to use for my DAD this morning and luckily for him,I am around ...so I was just listening to his conversation with the scammer ooo and chatting on one side,I became suspicious and ask him to let me speak with the man calling him.
immediately I collected the phone from him and saw an MTN line on the screen, I already knew its a scammer.....So I told him not ever call this line again and that my dad will visit his bank on Monday, come and see the way the scammer was arguing ooo.
I just disconnected the call and told my Dad not to pick the number again,he called more than five times before he gave up.... What is surprising to me is that they got all his detail right and na GT bank ..........May God save us from this Scammers
