If you are the type that is fund of dropping your smartphone accidentally, well the goodnews is that the best screen protection for you is here. Chinese smartphone giant Oppo has always enjoyed a close relationship with Corning, the makers of the popular Gorilla glass so it came as no surprise that the latest Corning Gorilla Glass 6 will be launched first on the Oppo next flagship device.

OPPO’s VP Andy Wu on the manufacturer’s ongoing collaboration with Corning has this to say:

“OPPO and Corning have always maintained a close working relationship, which has enabled a superior user experience for consumers through multiple versions of OPPO smartphones. We are excited to be the first to adopt Gorilla Glass 6 on our upcoming smartphone, and we believe that consumers around the globe will enjoy an unprecedented experience”.



The exact model wasn’t mentioned in the announcement, but recent teasers and rumors suggest the first device to feature Gorilla Glass 6 could be the OPPO F9 and F9 Pro, which are slated for a launch sometime later this month.



Gorilla Glass 6 is, designed to be more durable and stronger than its predecessor which was introduced two years ago. The big story here is the ability of the new Corning Gorilla Glass 6 to withstand drops from higher heights and, perhaps even more importantly to most users, multiple drops per device. “On average, in lab tests, Gorilla Glass 6 survived 15 drops from 1 meter onto rough surfaces, and is up to two times better than Gorilla Glass 5,” according to a release from Corning.

For the fact that a car model was advertised that it has anti-collision does not mean you should start speeding and run into things anyhow,

Nobody said gorilla glasses are totally resistant to cracks, the glass can only help you to an extent and will only remain unbreakable as long as you're not carelessness with it

If you phone falls and crack, then it's your carelessness and you'll have to own your responsibility.

Even my gorilla glass 3 of that year was madly strong

So even if a gorilla handles my phone it will be okay?

I got their mail last but,there is no indication as to which device will sport the glass technology. Any of the upcoming smartphones from the Oppo F9, Oppo F9 Pro, Oppo R17, or any other new device from the manufacturer could be the one to sport it.
