The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has stated that it would not accept any peace deal with South-East governors or Ohanaeze Ndigbo until they mount pressure on the federal government to produce its leaders, Nnamdi Kanu, and his parents.

The group made the statement days after its leadership met with foremost constitutional lawyer, Prof Ben Nwabueze and the leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo at Atani, Ogbaru local government area.

Nwabueze had called both groups to consolidate on an earlier peace deal he brokered between them in Enugu.

But a press statement signed by the IPOB deputy leader, Uche Mefor and IPOB head of directorate of state, Chika Edoziem, gave five conditions for reconciliation, among which was also the lifting of the proscription of IPOB.

The statement read in part, “Ohaneze Ndigbo should lead Igbo governors in the public de-proscription of IPOB in the South East. This is because we are mindful of the fact that Ohanaeze Ndigbo and lgbo governors were the first to ban IPOB before the Federal Government stepped in to tag all of us terrorists.

“Ohaneze Ndigbo must prevail on the Federal Government to de-proscribe IPOB. This is an absoute prerequisite.

“An unreserved apology must be tendered to IPOB over the complicity of lgbo governors and Ohaneze Ndigbo in instigating Operation Python Dance that resulted in the death of hundreds of IPOB activists.

“Ohanaeze Ndigbo should publicly demand for the whereabouts of our leader Maxi Nnamdi Kanu, his parents, Sir I. O Kanu and Ugoeze Sally N. Kanu.”

The statement added, “They should also apologise to the Afaraukwu Ibeku community for their complicity in the invasion of the palace of their traditional ruler.

“Federal Government should set up a high powered delegation to meet with IPOB High Command in Europe to negotiate terms for a final status settlement.

“When these conditions are met, only then will IPOB be in a position to agree modalities on how best to work closely with Ohaneze Ndigbo leadership to achieve the ultimate goal of genuine Igbo/Biafra emancipation,” the statement read.

I knew that ohaneze and Co are simply working hard to have their share of 2019 general election budget and nothing more. They remain who they're until it's proven otherwise .

IPOB officials should follow them like snake with readiness to kill them should they raise their ugly heads to bite.

IPOB are the only consistent group in their ideology, every other groups are just after money and power, including the churches. love them or hate them, you can't deny their honesty of purpose.

the success of the last sit at home protest have proved beyond reasonable doubt that IPOB is the only influential group in the south east and parts of the south south. all these Ohanaeze politicians are just after the money they would make from next year's presidential elections.

IPOB is the only organization that have refused to be bought over.You can say whatever you like about them,They have uncompromising leadership.When shall such stainless uncompromising leadership emerge in Igbo political leadership?

These ones can be disturbing their leaders in their SE as they like. They should not just carry their madness to disturb the whole country. Python kuku still dey anyway...

Who asked for your daft advice? As long as you're telling them they're Nigerians at the point of a gun, they're free to 'carry their madness' to anywhere they choose!

IPOB, Ohaneze and SE governors are discussing something and you want to chook mouth for the thing wey no concern you! This very same 'brave' fulani-python-dancers (whose satanic actions in the SE seem to give you a stiff bone'r) go all weak at the knees when faced with a gun-wielding opponent....these are the scum you see as heroes for killing the 'nyamiris' in cold blood!

IPOB and i despise sharing the same country with the likes of you, and we are doing something about it! You on the other hand despise Igbos, yet are doing nothing to see the back of us! If that's not the very definition of shamelessness then i don't know what is!

Kanu no longer exist.

IPOB has so much respect in Igboland because they stand on truth and principle. They refused to be compromised. That’s why the people respect them and loyally follow their instructions.

They have effectively captured the minds of the younger generation. It will be hard for Nigeria to reverse this phenomenon.

IPOB is here to stay whether Nnamdi Kanu is alive or dead and they will continue to fight for their internationally recognized right to self determination.
