Recently I spend a lot more on fuel than before. Any advise on how to solve this problem.

are you sure your car still have catalyst (indomie), oxygen sensor and also check the plugs

I have a MY09 5cyl version in the fleet here.

Are you going by a mathematical calculation or just guessing? Those cars are to really gas savers.

You mean the same mechanic that cannot solve your problem.?Nigerian are very funny !

It is amazing you cannot see you avg fuel economy on your dashboard and post/ Google it. You need to ask mechanic who messed up your car the information in front of you. You have a newer car read the manual and learn something new everyday your ignorance will only cost you more money

Cycle your dashboard readout and get your average and instant fuel consumption figures. Thy are usually pretty accurate. They should let you know if something is amiss. Also do a manual calculation to compete wit your average mpg. Dont just entrust your car to your mechanic. If you have changed your route to work or the traffic situation ha changed, it could also be a factor in the mpg.
