Falz Set To Sue NBC Over Their Ban On His Song ‘This Is Nigeria’ by Gossipninja(op): 9:29am On Aug 11, 2018
Falz who had reacted to the NBC ban on his song ‘This is Nigeria’ which they say contains vulgar words, has threatened to sue the agency a day after he shared a letter which revealed that a Radio Station in Jos was fined for playing the song.

The call for the song’s ban had first been made by MURIC, who claimed that some ladies in hijab were dancing Shaku Shaku and they believed it was against the Islamic religion, but their pleas fell on deaf ears. However announcing the song’s ban this week, the NBC said;
This is Nigeria, look how we living now. Everybody be criminal,” stating that it made the song vulgar and it was in contravention of Section 3.6.1 and 3.13.2.2 of its constitution.

Falz who disclosed that he felt it was ridiculous for the commission to ban the song, argued that it was not a vulgar song but a socially conscious piece of art which addresses the current issues in the country.

In his Interview with Saturday Beats, Falz said;

“There is absolutely nothing vulgar about the song and I think it is ridiculous that the Nigerian Broadcast Commission singled out the least vulgar line in the song and ascribed it to be the reason they banned the song. It is a very simple and clean song. The only thing is that I was very blunt about the way I talk about things. I do not know maybe some messages in the song hit them and that is the real reason they banned the song. The line was, ‘This is Nigeria, look how we living now. Everybody be criminal.’ If they ban this song, then I do not understand them because that song is definitely not a vulgar song.”
He also stated that he he does not know if there was any conspiracy to ensure that the song never enjoyed airwaves, but he was aware that the song could have hit some nerves of certain people. Falz added that his lawyers will be investigating why his song was banned.
“I do not know if the fact that some group wanted me to retract the song is linked with this new development but I know that there were a lot of messages in the song and it is hitting a lot of people in the wrong places and that is what is making them react in that manner. However, there was absolutely no basis for the NBC to ban that song. I am going to have to write to them through my lawyers to find out what is really going on. When I find out the reason behind the ban, I could ask them to lift it if need be and if they do not adhere to my request, I might have to seek legal redress,” he said.

Falz or whatever he's called is one dumb soul.

Because your dad Falana is an hardcore criminal doesn't automatically make every Nigerian a criminal also.

I don't blame him tho, i blame the Apama Oduduwa and Epon Ojukwu descendants who won't just try to stay away from illegal stuffs like drugs and internet fraud and do something legal.

Falz, just fuuk away please!

Frankly, it's a good thing that the song was banned.

Nigeria already has a bad reputation & the last thing she needs is someone coming to say that EVERYONE IS A CRIMINAL.

I've listened to Childish Gambino's This is America like 10 times. I've even gone through the lyrics & I didn't see or hear where he bashed the country in general.

Despite the fact that America has a very high level of crime. Ranging from credit card theft, robbery, gang wars, murderers, rapists... amoungs others... They even have a corrupt government & law agencies.

But 1 Mr. Falz took it upon himself to tag everybody a criminal. You see Africans mentality? If he tries to travel & they deny him Visa, he'll still come & start talking trash. Meanwhile, he spearheaded the whole thing.

If Falz should sue NBC, he will lose...
The constitution is already backing the NBC

Guilty conscience will wail over this. Accept it ;
Police are criminals
Politicians are criminals
Religious leaders are criminals
Citizens are criminals, if you look at it well. We are all criminals. You throw your pure water sachet on the road, park anyhow, don't obey traffic light, do illegal connection of light. Apparently we're all criminals. I am.

All these things that you said, it also applies to Americans. They have a corrupt police force, they have a corrupt government, they have corrupt religious leaders & they have ALOT of citizens with criminal records. But yet, did you hear Childish Gambino tag ALL Americans as criminals?

You're talking about disobeying the traffic light & doing illegal light connection... what about other Nigerians abroad trying hard?

There's no guilty conscience here... That's just foolishness...

You talking of corruption in America. FYI nothing like American police, every state has her police or a region, and I don't think it's corrupt. It's time we face the truth here. Little things we do we don't know they are illegal because we easily bribe our police force. Childish whatever didn't tag every American as criminals because they are not all criminals. But we, we are all criminals face it!

LOL... So because each State has her own police, does that mean there is no general name for them? Aren't they governed by the same laws?

If so, each State shouldn't be adressing Trump as their president since they have a governor/mayor.

And for you to say that you don't think the police force is corrupt just shows how ignorant you are. You think of Americans as higher species who are incapable of committing a crime... And that's WRONG!

Well it seems you haven't been keeping up with the foreign news. There are corrupt police officers in the US... Go & watch CNN & listen to foreign radio stations.

Two police officers were arrested cause they were using their badges to STEAL!
Two Baltimore city police officers were convicted in federal court on Monday on charges including racketeering....
The video of their arrest is on YouTube. Go & watch it!

Comparing American police system and Nigeria is one that is incomparable. Nigeria from IG to ordinary officers are corrupt. It's one of the most corrupt government owned organization in the country. FBI is federal, while the rest use maybe, NYPD, LAPD, Sharif, etc. Their police system is not as corrupt as ours#

LOL... First you said that you don't think that they are corrupt. Now you saying they not as corrupt as the Nigerian police... So which is it? Are they corrupt or not?

BTW, you should know that corruption is corruption. There is no big corruption & there is no small corruption. It you break the law, you pay the price.. It's as simple as that...

Also, you're not in America. So you can't say you know exactly how bad/corrupt they are.

You said from IG to ordinary police in Nigeria are corrupt? The same goes for US.. A police chief was arrested!
Michael William Diebold, the police chief of Leechburg, Pennsylvania, was arrested and faces...
Even the son of a police captain was arrested
The son of a Boston police captain has been arrested in a counter-terrorism operation by the FBI
There is NO country that is free from corrupt leaders. Where there is POWER, there's corruption.

So before you come to display your ignorance, make sure you do your research & get your facts right!
