I studied in Ghana and i want to apply for a DOV here in Nigeria with my Ghanaian certificate and transcript. Please is it possible or I have to go to the Italian consulate in Accra to get it.

He does not have to travel, he can submit the document here in Nigeria, the consulate will forward it to their office in Ghana for legalization.

Yes. As far as I know, legalization is a process in which the Consulate attests to the authenticity of ANY document. DOV is document which the Consulate issues as a declaration that your ACADEMIC document is of commensurate value with that of an equivalent document in Italy. They are slightly different, but if you time application well, you may apply for both legalization and DoV at the same time.

There are two official translators in Lagos. If you download the legalization form on the Consulate's website you'll see their addresses. If your school is starting in early September though, you have a huge race against time, because after you've translated, you have to legalize your documents, then pre-enroll (except you are going for a PhD), before you can apply for Visa. And I am not quite sure pre-enrollment is still open. I'd suggest you call the Consulate ti find out if pre-enrollment is still open.

Which translator did you use because translation takes at most 1week.

The translation office at TBS in Lagos. The other one at VI is no longer functional, the woman said she has retired.

This new polio vaccination certificate, is it the same with certificate of fitness? I went to a general hospital and was told that the certificate of fitness is what is required, that the polio vaccination is included in it. Please is this the international certificate from WHO that is stated on the embassy website?

If in Lagos, go to the Health post at the Int'l Airport tollgate. You can get your int'l vaccination card there. Don't forget to tell them you need polio vaccination to be included, although they will ask you which country and when you're travelling. Everything should be max 2k. But get there early and be ready to spend some hours there. Good luck!

Preerolment is not required for my study. I learnt that one can proceed for visa while legalization is in progress. I just want to know if translation is needed for visa.
