Let's do a simple math here;

New SME Data Share
N7500 for 10gb or N3750 for 5GB

MTN Direct Purchase
N5000 for 10GB or N3500 for 5GB

Conclusion
From above, it appears that it is way more cheaper to buy MTN data directly from them than considering SME resellers. The prices for new SME Data is what resellers will get from MTN without their profits. MTN has been looking for a way to crush down data resellers since when they notice that some real hustlers were leveraging this product to create a side income for themselves in this non-complying economy of our country.

Sometime in November last year, MTN issued same announcement that they were going to increase the price of this product but surprisingly this did not take effect. MTN failed to realize that data resellers are not their competitors, they are just trying to become self - reliant because they're purchasing the data bundles directly from them and resell.

A guy on Twitter has started a hashtag #BringBackOurNormalRate calling on MTN to review these prices once more. Everyone of us can join the conversation using that hashtag until this gets to MTN and maybe they will consider reviewing the prices once again.
