Well, I've seen this coming.
Despite the fact that I like the development we experienced in the current administration in my dear state and I would love its continuity, the timing of this news is totally wrong. I wonder what the administration took the workers for. What is the assurance that we won't experience slashed salary when their party eventually emerge in the coming election.

I was considering opposition party in my state before but they cut my expectation short the moment they present dancing senator as their flag bearer..... Still digging into other party though. At this level, we need to think with our brain before choosing who to vote for and not with our mouth......don't sell your vote.
God Bless Nigeria
God Bless United State of Osun.
then vote for APC again, at least that's a guarantee of another eight years of half salary.....continuity of half salary is good for osun state, half salary is equivalent to nothing but suffering so let's vote them again... Nonsense is Aregbe not also known for his dancing? why are you not calling him "dancing governor"
how does dancing relates to competency, so because a person likes dancing it means a person is not competent.
if you don't vote him, there are other candidates like Adeoti and Omisore.. but I guess you probabbly prefer continuity of half salary and not to talk of 18 months of full salary that will probably never be paid.. we are our own problem.

When will Ekiti people enjoy this privilege too
Privilege? So people's legitimate wage for a month's hard work has become a privilege now?

did you not read that he his owing them arrears ? Many months for that matter and he only started paying full month from July ,mind you this is just a gimmick and excuse to rig osun elections.
Even if fayose had borrowed money from outside he would have put ekiti state in more debt and APC would still have rigged ekiti massively using federal might.

No government have taken Nigerians for fools than the broomstick party.
Point of correction.
Fayose failed because he was very wise in his own counsel.. Those people that worked for him in 2014 he came to power, he suddenly became an emperor to all of them.
I am from ekiti state and I know what I am talking about. If fayose had brought everybody under PDP together, and he did not allow arrogance and impunity to take over his life PDP would have won. He never allow others to contribute , he does what ever pleases him, that is why some of his loyalists left the party for him because if his overbearing altitudes, now his time is almost up.
Nothing more . Fayose is an embodiment of greed , arrogance, lies , propaganda, deceit, pomposity, etc.

Citizens of Osun, you can decide to be the fool here or tale charge next month. Dont let Tinubu and his boys decieve you, they dont care about your welfare o. This money is released just to pacify your minds for election and once that is cleared, it is back to square 1.

again, dont be decieved..
Ati gbon ni ipinle Osun. baba afusa should pay up the remaining 17 months he owed. what he did on tuesday will never work. ati gbon ni ipinle osun, A o go mon.

that is how they have been doing ooo. they think that they can cajole us with a month full salary, besides it remain 17 months salaries baba afusa owed. he should pay it. currently, lautech lecturers are on strike, also all the lecturers in all state tertiary institutions are on strike too due to unpaid salaries. pensioners haven't been paid yet. Ati gbon ni ipinle osun.

Oga it’s about time na. Promoting illegality all this while until it’s time to hit the campaign trail again. I just don’t understand how governors think it’s okay to exploit labor, or deprive their staff of their rights on the excuse that government is broke, government should never be the highest employer of labor in a functioning state anyways.

4-6 years is enough to cut down the size of a civil service to a bearable level if you can’t pay them (personally, I think most civil service posts in Nigeria are redundant except in education)

The salary payment few months to the gubernatorial election is a scam, they should be having another gubernatorial election in the state few months from now. I was a corper in osun in 2013 when aregbesola was seeking re-election dt man paid us corpers 4 months salary within 3 weeks, when it was just a month to the election then, he paid in 2 installments, 2month salary then another 2 month salary within 3weeks, he paid d teachers 2 months arrears also within d same period. He started owing them again b4 our POP. He his just doing it for the election.

Probably you omit the part I said "I'm still considering other parties" ...forget about the fact that you belong to a particular political group. I'm apathy but that won't stop me from saying the truth, aregbes 2 terms surpuss others that have ruled in osun,

yns4real:
The Chairman, Nigeria Labour Congress, Osun State chapter, Mr Jacob Adekomi, has said that the Governor Rauf Aregbesola administration has started paying full salaries to all categories of workers in the state.

The NLC chairman said this in a telephone interview with our correspondent in Osogbo on Wednesday.

Adekomi said local government workers and primary school teachers had started receiving payment alerts from their banks, adding that he had also received an alert of full salary for the month of July.

He said, “The state government has started paying us full salaries. But we are waiting for the payment of arrears of the balance of modulated salaries. We have already given them a 21-day ultimatum and we hope they will pay the arrears before the expiration of the ultimatum.

“Negotiation will soon commence and we are waiting for them to start paying us the arrears. But I can confirm that they have started paying us full salaries and I received the alert yesterday.”

But the Secretary of the 2011/2012 Forum of Retirees in the state, Mr Sola Olojode, said pensioners had yet to start receiving full pensions.

He said retirees went to the Head of Service, Dr Oyebade Olowogboyega, and were assured that they would be paid full pension for the month of July.

He said this while speaking with our correspondent on the telephone.

Olojede said, “We went to the Head of Service two days ago and he assured us that we would be paid full pension for July. We will make noise again if we are not paid as they promised.

“He also assured us that those retirees whose N100, 000 cheques given to them bounced should present the cheques again. The cheques of N100, 000 out of millions of naira gratuities bounced. Can you imagine that? The cheques were given to teachers that retired through Teachers and Establishment and Pension Office.”

Meanwhile, Olowogboyega commended Aregbesola for the double promotions they received without examinations and the employment of thousands of youths into the Osun Youth Empowerment Scheme programme.

He also lauded the governor for the on-going conversion of workers from one cadre, adding that refurbishment of office equipment and necessary items for effective service delivery would be done soon.

Olowogboyega stated that arrears and leave bonuses would be paid, adding that the new promotion status of each worker would be reflected and not the former level, while the financial benefits attached to the promotion status would be fulfilled.

I can assure you that I'm not supporting any political party too, but I know I won't vote Apc, there's no guarantee that they won't continue half salary or even worse.imagine another eight years of half salary, that's scary.
if you think What Aregbe has done with all the debts, half salaries and how osun state is dead economically has surpassed everything else others has done before him, then your standard for governance is so low and mediocre.
I did rather vote that Adeoti guy or omisore and see what they have got than vote a party notorious for suffering its own civil servants and pensioners..

Exactly the same course Chief Bisi Akande ran and ended up in the queuing behind Asiwaju Tinubu. Not fair to treat workers unfairly. A Leader should be bold enough to trim the workforce if he can’t pay the bloated Public Service.
