Stop using USPS/NIPOST. Avoid stories that touch. I mailed a package to someone in Lagos since 2012 and yet to be received and since that incident I have never mailed anything to Nigeria.

Advice needed pls... I order a phone from Ali express and it was delivered. On getting to nipost to collect d package, I was told I'll have to pay 10k cos a DN was attached to the package by customs. Plead but was told there's nothing they can do except I pay.
The problem is I really think d nipost staffs want to rip me off and also I can't get d money. I was told d package will be returned in a months time.
My question: is it advisable to wait for a month and allow the package to be sent back to d seller.
Will I be given d tracking I D of d package once it is sent back (bearing in mind that I was not d one that initiate d return process).
Hope there will not be a case of item lost during d process of sending it back...

Tell them you want to see the DN attached to the package by the customs. Let them know Custom duties are only paid to the Customs bank account. Don't let them rip you. Nipost does not have any business collecting Duty. STAND FIRM.

No, I didn't get the package.
I was told it didn't get to Nigeria and the funny thing is the fact that it was neither returned to the sender.
