I just woke up from a little nap only to find this text message on my phone from very cheap scams.

I decided to reply them thus(see pix below), was I too harsh?

You guys should report those numbers to the appropriate authorities, thanks.

Do people still fall for this cheap scam?

Mine was even brutal than this. The guy sent something like your friend Emmanuel during NYSC bla bla trying to create story about an oil company.

This is now a common trend for those who pass out from NYSC newly.

I sometimes wonder how they get the numbers of ex-corp members...are you sure some NYSC staffs are not involved?

I think it's from the magazine/yearbook or bulk list of all passing out Corp members.
Got same oil company story when I passed out. Was almost believing till I remembered my sister, a former colleague and another friend got the same when they passed out.(yeah, it's been on since forever )Plus the guy shot himself in the leg when he said we were platoon members in camp at the state I served and meanwhile I camped in a different state, only redeployed after camp.
