A team that opts for a draw in their ''HOME" at the beginning of a season should be banned by FIFA. That was the most boring game I've watched in a while.
Even Rondon and Murphy that I was looking out for were forced to be defenders.
I understand most of their players were on injury, but that should't be an excuse for fielding ALL your players as defenders na!!
Anyway the 3 points was well deserved and we broke another record 84% ball possession!!!

But when you face barca u will still go back to your 9-0-1 formation and end up with 20% ball possession or less

all these clowns that know nothing about football and come to nairaland to spill trash...Newcastle played a very smart game..benitez knows he lacks the quality that can match Chelsea on a possession based game and played a defensive game that almost earned him a point against Chelsea..they were missing shevlvey quality... they played defensive game that ended 2-1 if they were that defensive without purpose how come they earned a goal that was not from set piece or the spot...most people are so obsessed with possession possession game...Leicester and Chelsea won the league with below 50% possession and at times were defensive in some games like Newcastle...for ur info guardiola did 80% and over against Wigan and lost in the FA cup...Wigan defended all through....at times its OK to be defensive had it been some coaches won't be so stupid not to know that at 5-3 up in the first leg second leg u have to be defensive not to lose 3-1 same applys to Barcelona their coach made a mistake by not going defensive against Roma in the second leg... am sure he will not do that mistake again
