Since I can comfortably afford internet access wherever I find myself, I stick to mine. I recall when visiting Nigeria last year and stayed with my brother, I found out that his neighbour's Wi-Fi was open but to use it to access my stuff online was a no-no.

if you understand linux,you could hack yourself in any network....

wpe is easy to hack.....
