If someone that's not even a house of rep member talk more of senator or governor should defect with 100,000... how many do you think will be loyal to the rest. Mind you that's roughly 10% of kwara state voting strength.

The ruling, Peoples Democratic party (PDP)in Kwara state has suffered another major blow,with the defection of over 100,000 of its members to the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state,by a chieftain of the party, and oil magnate, Alh Abdulrazaq Abdulrahaman.

Abdulrahaman,a former governorship candidate of CPC who also contested with Senator Bukola Saraki in the last senatorial election in Kwara central said this yesterday, in an interview with journalists, after his registration with the All Progressives Congress (APC)at his Idi-igba ancestral home in Ilorin. He said,”All my supporters have moved from the Peoples Democratic party (PDP) to All Progressives Congress (APC),we are talking in the region of over 100,000 electorates.

Already, the national leadership of APC had sent 250,000 cards to kwara state in order to accommodate all of us.” Let me give you a clearer example, “In Kaima local government, 90% of the party members did not move to PDP,they remained where they were.

Now 80% of Kwara north as a whole also stayed behind,even in kwara central where I come from most people did not move with them,so there is a change in the horizon” On why he left PDP ,he said,”Hitherto,we were in CPC and when the CPC merged with the ACN,they decided to bring in what you call the new PDP and we realised that the people coming from the new PDP were the people we could not work with,they were agents of destruction so we opted out of the alliance. “And we warned them,but they didn’t agree with us,now you have seen the havoc they have done to our party.Now we are back home, where we belong.

” The party chieftain explained that his defection with his mammoth supporters to the All Progressives Congress will bring about the long awaiting desired change to the opposition, All Progressives Congress in the state. He was optimistic that the looming change in kwara state in the forthcoming elections, would bring a final end to what he described as the ongoing maladministration in the state for over twenty years now According to him,”For us,its about change, we have had maladministration for over twenty years,its just that change that we want,it’s not even about who become the governor or which geopolitical zone take the mantle.

We just want to get rid of these people who have mismanaged the economy of kwara for years ” On it’s possibility, he said”Coming from the last local government election late last year,anybody that lived in the state knew that the opposition won the election,so the people are ready for change. Right now,the leaders of the party are meeting and building consensus to consolidate on that achievement to win the state in the next election
