Olalan:Two things can make that happen: If the primary is Indirect. If its Direct, it can only emerge if he/she is popular and well liked |

senatordave1:I can't say for now brother, let's wait till December, January then it would become clearer... But for now all I see in the eyes of an average Yoruba State, is they don't want to present a State that doesn't align with Federal support... Go and ask Osun State, and even Tinubu how they suffered when they were not aligning with the Federal Government... But I want you to be calm before taking quick decision, what they are currently doing is they are patiently waiting for the PDP candidate, they would measure the capacity, then field there own support for him if it worthwhile but if they feel his not worthwhile, they manage the Buhari... Although seems all the Geo political Zones are equally doing the same but the Yoruba's this time wants to play the last joker spot because other Regions are just too attach with him or so against him. But on general view, Buhari is not easy to sell to anyone here because remember, they are very knowledgeable and well educated but at the same time still vulnerable to the fear of being oppressed... My Little observation Yoruba, till the end and thing can still happen... Don't over rely on them. |

Bakerdav:Shittu cannot emerge as Oyo APC candidate irrespective of the model adopted for the primary election. Direct, indirect, and even consensus, he cannot win. |
| Re: Ajimobi Meets APC Governorship Aspirants (Photos) by FlyoruB: 8:36am On Sep 09, 2018 |
senatordave1:For strategic reasons, APC must field an Ibadan person to stand a chance coz Ibadan ( too populous to ignore) will be the battleground hotspot -- the party might even not do too well in the city but will still carry the day with Oyo, Oke Ogun and Ogbomosho votes (it is strong in those areas and that wont chnage overnight) support same way it happened during Ajimobi second term. And you are wrong about Ibadan ruling since '79. Bola Ige (an Ijesha from present-day Osun who won Oyo governorship in '79) won under UPN and his deputy Bisi Akande (former Osun state governor) were both from the Osun division back then (Osun was part of Oyo at the time). Though he lost reelection (allegedly via rigging) to an ibadan man in the person of Olunloyo of NPN in '83. Olunloyo's tenure was short lived thanks to the Buhari/Idiagbon military takeover. |

FlyoruB:APC may not get bloc vote in the oke Ogun axis as they did during Ajimobi's election if they do not feed in a governorship candidate from that side which is likely not going to happen this time around since the more grounded and top aspirant are from ibadan (Even Ajimobi promised the oke Ogun his support). Though, they may get bloc vote from ogbomoso with the presence of Akala, provided that there is no form of discord in case Akala fail to emerge as their governordhip candidate |

heayernu56:Guy, virtually all the major parties will be fielding Ibadan candidates so get real. Oke Ogun will be pacified because they will have little choice (their choices will be limited to Ibadan contestants in most if not all the parties). Ask yourself why neither of the other parties is fielding anyone from Oke-Ogun either. It's all strategy my friend. The reality is that for now APC is not strong enough in Ibadan so it cannot take that risk of fielding a non-ibadan person coz in such an event the party will most likely lose the election. The best it can do under the prevailing circumstance is to split Ibadan votes like it did during Ajimobi second term, by fielding an Ibadan native and getting a chunk of votes there. Oke Ogun would be better off under an APC ibadan man than any other mushroom party. Oke Ogun will likely be compensated. It's all politics. |

I was opportuned to follow Hon. Adebayo shittu's convoy for just a day and I must admit this man is really hard working. He might not be young but 85% of his crew are young and dynamic youths, I was so surprise when I met his crew cos I've heard alot about him. I'm not really a big fan of politics but I'm an indigene of OYO state and I've seen all the aspirants including the wealthy self acclaimed "international surgeon" (can't really remember his name) non of them has a campaign team as young as shittu's own (you can make a research if you doubt me). I know he has been accused of some corrupt practices but this is politics and your opponents will surely look for ways to bring you down. People say he's selfish just because he doesn't spray money at people during his visits (the same way the APC elders in Lagos state don't like Ambode cos he's into "physical infrastructure " and not "stomach infrastructure ". I made a research and I saw that shittu has dug more boreholes in OYO than even Ajimobi. shittu is a very free and humble man. |

wjames:I think Shittu is intellectually empty The only time I heard him speak was in the debate with Sowore and he was a monumental disgrace, There was nothing humble nor intelligent about the way he presented himselfI was neutral about him before but after that encounter, I am certain he would even be worse than Akala |
| Re: Ajimobi Meets APC Governorship Aspirants (Photos) by wjames(m): 2:44pm On Sep 09, 2018 |
raumdeuter:Sir, I felt the same way when I saw his debate with sowore but sir, this man is a Barrister and he has his own chamber. He has been running his chambers even before joining politics. The man was so exceptional that he became the youngest member of OYO house of assembly at just 26years, he has gotten so many academic awards (not honourary). You can try to google it,sir. I think right now, we need a Government that knows what the youths really want. Shittu also run a platform for the youth. I just have the love for this man called shittu. |

wjames:Brother, leave story... No politician, I repeat no politician IN NIGERIA, would include youths in his/her Government because the only set of people that are youths to them are there own children. NB: Nigeria Government only empower youths or make strong noise about empowering youths when Opportunities in Juicy Firms or Corporations are on... You better observe well, the Shittu might be drawing you people close to himself while the main opportunities are far from you people... If you know; You know |

Of course the killings are politically motivated, how many of us noticed that when the defections were heating up, there was no single incidence of killing we have to think deeply and know who we follow. |

wjames:Barrister ko, Kollington ni ![]() Shebi Jonathan too was a PhD holder All these achievements and he bungled The only opportunity for him to showcase his barrister prowess and knowledge. I have never seen anything worse. he was horrible, I have never seen anyone more useless than what he did that day The only exceptional thing about Shittu was his cluelessness. Go and watch that debate again and see if that is the type of person that should be called a governor where legends like Awolowo, Akintola, Bola Ige ruled I have so much reservation about his intellectual ability and I hope he never becomes the governor |
