Cases of cooked food stealing and sales of children for survival are being reported in the media.

Bread bakers are increasing the prices of bread currently.

Many companies are cutting operational costs, including salary cuts.

What other recession is more than these?

It's no news that unless we increase our productivity as a nation in a larger proportion than our population we would keep experiencing countless recession regardless of the people in power.

It is just sad that we play politics with everything in Nigeria.

You don’t see how government policies and bottlenecks highly affect productivity? You think people will stake their money in an unstable economy with harsh economic environment? The primary objective of a business is to make profit, helping the economy grow is a by-product of that based on enabling policies of government

Law enforcement does not work, patent systems are not enforced to encourage creativity and competition, businesses collapse easily due to lack of support systems and poor policy management etc.

I totally disagree on this. Government must create the enabling environment and infrastructure then Nigerians can now build on that. But where the enabling environment is not created what will people do.

This government shot itself on the foot by its policies. You don't just withhold money.
After the 2008 financial crisis that hit the world starting from America.

What did their government do?
They reduced interest rate to encourage borrowings by businesses to stimulate the economy and then on the fiscal side the US government increased spending to circulate money in the system.

This present government has withheld money from the system. So how will Nigeria not go into recession again and amidst increase in crude oil price.

And 1. 5% GDP growth for the quarter is very very dangerous for our economy.

I wonder who advises this government economically.

On paper the recession is over but in reality the recession is still on going!

If PMB and this APC led government can act like this when they have something at stake I.e second term, just imagine what will happen when they have absolutely nothing to lose?

No good quality sustainable economic policies, infrastructural development or even social development.

Nigeria is so indebted right now(and this government is still hell bent on borrowing), with no visible/tangible development to show for it.
Poor social amenities and unfavorable economic policies that kills off the middle class.

Until we vote in a leader and not a ruler, we'll keep on retrogressing as a nation.

Until we vote in someone who doesn't see himself as just the president of Nigeria but a Nigerian president(who can really identify with the needs and wants of his people), this country will never have good progress and sustainable development!

If PMB could not manage and improve his cow business before he became our president, I don't see how he's ever going to manage and improve our economy or develop our nation.

With the so much debt accrued, I weep for our generations yet unborn.
This present crop of power drunk/hungry leaders have nothing to offer except to fund their personal ambitions, lavish lifestyles and impoverish the masses so they'll always be demi gods to them.

Nigeria has too many educated youths without common sense and wisdom.

I love my country but I'm ashamed of our leaders!

Their economic reasoning is in the range of minus. At a time they needed to liberalize and facilitate growth they have instead squeezed the whole place. They created 300,000 new jobs with 5000 naira stipend and forced millions with 500,000 pay to run aground!

Else, there would be another recession. The indices clearly show Nigeria is at the tipping edge of another economic recession, which could be more sustained than the one she currently is in.

My brother I tire. Sometimes I wonder who really advises this people. Fixing Nigeria is not a rocket science. Nigeria is bursting with potentials but we have a government that does not have the capacity and think tank to maximize these portent.

It is just sad that we play politics with everything in Nigeria.

Govt officials are paid to make hustling easier.. For instance we need constant power supply, we need good health policy, we need massive investment in education, we need reliable means of transportation, we need high tech research centres, etc, the citizens are not the ones to provide these things since the nation's fund is not in our hands but in the hands of the govt. We pay them to manage our resources and provide these things. They are not to do it with their own money.

We can't grow as long as contracts are still awarded to friends, we cant grow as long as we still use govt agencies to compensate friends and loyal pals, we can't grow as long as we practice these system of govt that allows stated to depend heavily on the central govt.

Transportation
Flow of clean water (Tap water)
Justice

There is no country with a great economy on earth that is deficient in any of the listed parameters.
