According to OwnGoalNigeria, a top official of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), confirmed that Lookman has made the decision to represent his father’s country.

” Base on our discussion with his management team and his parents he will represent Nigeria . He has decided to play for Nigeria. Lookman never shut out Nigeria completely‎ but we have to be careful because of the experience with Tammy Abraham “, he told Owngoalnigeria.com.

“Coach Gernot Rohr has always wanted Lookman. Now with the retirement of Victor Moses, he will add to the options available to the coach on the flanks. An announcement will be made soon”, he concluded.

He however said he is not sure of Lookman making the squad of the Nigerian team for next month back to back Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers against Libya.

This is a welcome development if you ask me given the fact that Rohr makes use of in form players and the squad contains very vibrant and youthful stars, I see lookman doing well with the national team as he has that speed you expect from am African, and man has his trainings on foreign soil, I hope he joins soon as the retirement of Moses did left an opening in that squad, he was one solid member. Lets look forward to lookmans switch with gusto!

Every good player wants a platform where not only they can shine but where playing time is assured too...Lookman don't look like he'd break into that senior team any time soon, more so he no even get assurance for club side!

Lol, most of the super eagles squad na bunch of misfits, few starters for club side.....Look man is only wise looking at how far solanke and Tammy Abraham have done so far, Jordan ibe even comes to mind, the competition isn't stiff out here.
