Its actually serious.

Perhaps you live in some fairytale magical kingdom where money isn't used but magic wands and anytime you need something, you just wave the wand and say some magic words and it appears.

Infrastructure is capital intensive and we need all the help we can get to get ourselves to the place of development our economy needs so as to attract more investors and grow our GDP
Still funny, I mean is the government just waking up?

Your question should be directed at PDP who held sway for 16 years yet did nothing

I hate it when people like you always want to take us to the past, using PDP 16years to justify nonsense, I. Mean why was this useless goverment voted in the first place?

To continue from where PDP stop or make Nigeria great.

I don't think you're in your right senses for bringing this nonsense into this.

I need to perhaps bash your head against some rocks before sense will descend into it.

A 16 year old child when born, had 16 years to achieve certain objectives and never achieved any all his 16 years of life and then a 3 year old comes along and begins to do what that 16 year old refused to do or couldn't do.

This 16 year old then turns around and begins insulting the 3 year old and calling him all sorts of names despite being older and by virtue of age also supposed to be smarter.

The burdens this 16 year old could not bear or offset the 3 year old has been doing with ease despite not having access to the kind of resources the 16 year old had.

Such a 16 year old should bury his head in shame forever.

If you must go forward, you must never forget where you are coming from. We can never forget what PDP did to us in their 16 wasted years.

OBJ looted his share and brought his boy GEJ to loot his own share.

OBJ could not account for $16b meant for power generation.

GEJ looted money meant for security and insurgency via dasuki. He legalised looting and corruption. His wife suddenly could afford billions in assets and cash.

Nobody remembered the masses. It was all about a government for the rich, by the rich and of the rich.

PMB has changed that now and is now focused on the masses and suddenly the 1% who are the rich/elites are crying foul and want him out by all.means.

All awarded contracts in the years of PDP were abandoned and left unfunded despite a massive record breaking $393b in oil revenue, rendered 30 states bankrupt and could not pay salaries and the same PDP government began to borrow so they can pay salaries.

Pmb with a meager $94b has never borrowed to pay salaries and instead has regularly given bail outs to states which GEJ and PDP rendered bankrupt. Same pmb is also now paying off contracts and projects the past PDP government abandoned and left unfunded and has also been able to grow our foreign reserves from the $27b PDP left it to about $46b today within 3 years.

Now pmb is on a massive infrastructural drive and has been impressive in just 3 years.

We can never forget our past for when we do, we have lost the resolve to go forward away from that ugly past.

Buhari wants the funds to be used according to specific laws to make they are not relooted.

Or are using expecting him to start using the funds without authorization so u can see something to accuse him of?

You can imagine the kind of monies and assets that have been looted in Nigeria by the 1% who have access to our Commonwealth. Corruption was a cancer in Nigeria.

Thank God for someone like Buhari who is determined to trim it down.

If this was in the days of GEJ you would never hear such being made public because they never recovered. All they were interested in was to keep looting

How much has been recovered from Buhari himself? His wife and daughters' Hermes and jewellery collection alone would be worth millions of dollars (not even including his son Yusuf and his billions for now), all illegally acquired of course.

How much has been recovered from 'Tunde' Sabiu - Buhari's stupendously rich small boy Chief Personal Assistant? A boy that has billions in cash in his mere 20s merely by being Buhari's PA?

How much has been recovered from Thief of Staff Kyari? Or is anybody still doubting that the man has become a multi billionaire under Buhari's stuffy nose?

How much has been recovered from Amaechi (including his slay queens like Mo Abu-something, Toke Makinwa and countless others that he wasted and is still wasting millions of dollars public funds on)?

Most importantly, how much has been recovered from Asiwaju Jagaban Tifinumbu? The richest Nigerian politician dead or alive. His wealth would put Abacha and Babangida to shame, and I am saying that confidently. How much has been recovered from him?

Yet China is a debtor of over $4 trillion and still borrowing.

This is the season of infrastructure and development does not come cheap. Every country pays the price called DEBT prior to development. They go together because no country exists or grows Alone.

Very efficient government
So that is why we must keep borrowing, if really u hv been following pmb govt u all realise that the amount he claimed to have recovered is enough to even all necessary infrastructure he claims he is building, abeg make them finish the one wet we get for hand first before embarking on massive debt that the nation will not recover from.

You are wrong. The amount recovered is a drop in a bucket of the amount we require to massively turn Nigeria around infrastructurally.

We are a nation with the most populous black people on earth and that alone translates to the need for more money than what you imagine in your head.

Ad long as those monies go into what they are for then they would pay for themselves and fund their own debt payback.

If past governments had been obsessed with infrastructure and ensured they finished and not abandoned projects, we would not be where we are as a nation.

By now we would have been the only African super power in the midst of other nations.

Even though we are not there yet, we need to start from somewhere and that is what this government has chosen to do. To ensure all abandoned projects are finished. Thereby radically helping to grow our GDP

Did u ever read, pondered and understood what u posted up there?

The invasion and arresting of judges were based on investigation of corrupt activites of those judges who are not above the law. Even the ordinary masses goes through the ordeal when under investigations.

The man arrested and held in costody was running a separate govt which according to existing Nigeria is a treasonable offence.

But there is no law on how the recovered funds should be used and that is what the president is asking for

ABUJA – PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari Tuesday appealed to the National Assembly to hasten the passage of the Proceeds of Crime Bill before it in order to strengthen his anti-corruption war in the country.

This is as the President has vowed to make optimal use of proceeds of recovered loots to address the economic and social problems and has promised to block loopholes for stealing public funds.
The President made the appeal when he received report of the committee on the Audit of Recovered Public Assets which he set up last year to carry out a comprehensive audit of assets and funds recovered by Ministries, Departments and Agencies between 29th May 2015 and 22nd November 2017.

The three-member Committee which said it had recovered N769 billion is chaired by Olufemi Lijadu, an accountant from the Auditor General of the Federation office, Mohammed Nami, and Gloria Chinyere Bibogha.

Pointing out that assets recovery is an integral part of the war against corruption, the President said the committee was empanelled not only to reconcile different figures released as recovered loot since 2015, but to also evolve a proper management, transparency and accountability culture in the management of recovered assets

According to him: “Our asset recovery and management system will in future be transparently, effectively and efficiently managed, and we will set out a fresh template of public accountability in the country.

“However, a key tool that will revolutionize our asset recovery and management architecture is the Proceeds of Crimes Bill which is currently awaiting passage by the National Assembly.

“Once the Bill is passed and assented, many of the challenges facing our asset recovery and management practice will be adequately taken care of as the Bill addresses most of the challenges facing effective asset recovery and management in Nigeria. I therefore encourage the National Assembly to take necessary steps to pass the Bill.”

He promised that proceeds of assets recoveries would be optimally used to address economic and social problems, while loopholes for stealing public funds must be blocked; even as he assured Nigerians that the findings and recommendations of the Committee would be carefully examined and given due consideration with a view to implementing the recommendations.

Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, who stressed that the committee’s work was intended to avoid a re-looting of the recovered assets, proposed that projects funded by recovered loot should henceforth be appropriately captured in national budgets.

Giving a mini breakdown of the recovered assets, Malami said: “The federal government recovered N13.8 billion from tax evaders in May 2018.

“In May 2018, government paid N439.2million to about 14 whistle blowers who gave specific information on tax evasion.

“Again, N3.8 million, $378million US dollars 27,800 pounds was equally recovered from public officials.

“In summary, the recovered funds by the three-man committee is N769 billion naira cash, recovered within the period under review.”

Chairman of the Committee, Lijadu, in his brief remarks, disclosed that it was complied in four volumes even as he appealed to government to always deploy recovered assets properly.

Lijadu said, “The government agencies covered by the audit are the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) Nigeria Police Force, Pension Transitional Arrangement Department, PTAD, Federal Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Justice, Office of the National Security Adviser, ONSA, and Department of State Security, DSS.

“The Committee obtained access to records including bank statements and other information from government agencies, banks and other organizations regarding recovered cash and non cash public assets. The Committee as required by its Terms of Reference, reviewed and attempted to reconcile the recovered assets as declared by agencies with the actual recoveries made.”

I understand you am not saying the recovered sum so far is capable of turning Nigeria around infrastructure wise, only one tenure cannot bring naija bk to shape neither can it make Nigeria massive in infrastructure it can only be used to start a good turn. In essence all the capital project in his budget is a little more than what he has recovered so let him use it up first bfr hurrying to borrow another one.
