The administration of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State has given explanation for the delay in the pavement and surfacing of excavated and stabilized potholes on urban and intercity roads in the state, attributing it to “the resurgence of the rains”.

In a statement by the Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Greg Nnaji, the state government further explained that the persistent rains have made it impossible for the application of “hot rolled asphaltic wearing course for the pavement and surfacing”.

Engr. Nnaji, who reassured the people of the state and road users of the state government’s commitment to complete the exercise in record time, added that “we will take advantage of any available dry weather window to complete the maintenance work at the respective locations/clusters”.

Consequently, pavement and surfacing are ongoing along Ogui Junction and Otigba Junction down to Bissalla Road, etc, because of the favorable weather in Enugu city at the moment.

Why escavate and make the roads worse in rainy reason, knowing fully well you need dry season to complete the job?

Gov. Ugwuanyi, Nwa Nsukka Asadu! Please i want to see a great change in Nsukka and environs when next i visit. Don't leave that seat without transforming Nsukka.

Buhari is marginalizing the SE.
The roads were destroyed by Hausa-Fulani cows to cause accident and reduce the Igbo populations.
Obioma and Amadioha will fight him.
The EU, USA and ICC will arrest him soon.

At least for one thing if no other, Enugu has good roads.

Whether or not there are patches is not the issue, as road maintenance is a basic function of government at every level. The problem is when we hail them for doing so.

Well the woman governor has spoken..Where were all those foolish scanty crowds that were just hailing this slowpoke?

We're used to it already in this country. That's why they feel important when they do "some" of their basic functions. They make us ponder on the feeling "what if he didn't do anything?". Good governance will begin when things like fixing roads etc get less attention while life improving policies are given adequate priority.

The man is simply clueless. The state has been on pause (if not backward) for the past 3 years and will continue for another 5 when he's re-elected. No blueprint, no ideas, no nothing. All he does is attend birthdays & child dedication, and be shouting "enugu is in the hands of god".
