Something is wrong about the assumptions. How can an aeroplane contain two tankers worth of fuel? Some planes don't stop till they get to London from Nigeria in case we are talking of refuelling.

First, let’s get some parameters right

Distance between the two airports :
Approx. 5,006 Km

Time taken for the journey :
6 hours 35 mins , which is equal to 395 mins

Cost of aviation fuel :

According to IATA, it costs 211.23 cts/gal
cts/gal is a term used in aviation,it means cents per gallon.
Lets convert this figure to ₦/litre
Lets use 360 per $
One dollar is 100 cents
211.23 cents = 2.11 dollars
To Naira = ₦759.6
This figure is per gallon
1 Gallon is approx. 3.79 litres
That means its costs ₦759.6 per 3.79 litres
That gives us ₦200.42 per litre

Quantity of fuel used for the journey :
The Boeing 747 uses about 12 litres per kilometre
Remember we are travelling 5,006 Km
That’s 60,072 litres consumed from Lagos to London
Let’s covert that to Naira
Remember it costs ₦200.42 per litre
That brings the total cost of fuel to travel from Lagos to London to ₦12,039,630.24!!

This your calculations is a lay man calculation.

fuel consumption in plane are quite diff from what you have in vehicles.

for aircraft the specific gravity of the fuel will be put into consideration as the SG varies from 0.7750 - 0.8400.
the lighter it is. the faster the rate of combustion and the more fuel it use.
if the SG is heavier close to 0.8400 the rate of combustion will be slower.
thou most pilot do ther calculations on an average basis having a tolerance allowance on bth side.

Therefore, a full load on that route will generate 300 * 144,000 = N 43,200,000

There is money to be made if an airline is run efficiently and continues to attract satisfied customers.

You all are forgetting all the extra costs the airlines incurr; landing fees, ground crew salaries, air crew salaries, food, maintenance, insurance, airport handling charges etc etc... All in thousands of dollars.!! Let’s not even add the initial costs of buying or leasing the aircraft.
Airlines all over the world struggle to make profits, in fact most of them are in debt and are just keeping their heads above waters

What weight basis are you using? Fuel consumption is a function of weight so are you assuming a fully laden aircraft? Note that before takeoff , there is a weight calculation done to determine how much fuel to take on ... I think.

Secondly, 747 are rarely used for Nigeria to London route , the 777 has better fuel economy is the common craft used in this route.
