What is lautech

There was a school. Decisions our leaders are making today will affect generations unborn in the future. When Osun was crafted out of Oyo and the decision to share the management of the school was made back in 1990/1991, I am 100% sure majority of the present students were not yet born back then. Now see what is happening. If they knew, they would have seeded the school to just one of the two states. You hardly see a state university within the country going through what LAUTECH is. So for those of you supporting all these crazy politicians from both parties, keep it up while they trade the future of the unborn kids due to their selfish policies.

Most of the decision makers back then never had their wards schooled in LAUTECH. It is rather unfortunate sha. My daughter spent 11 years studying medicine in LAUTECH thanks to their unending strikes.

And one drunk foreigner would sit in his country and rank LAUTECH the best state university over many other functioning ones repeatedly. Isn't webometric ranking and others such a huge joke?

Ladies and gentlemen, if you gain admission into lautech don't be too happy cos your education system isn't 6-3-3-4 it's 6-3-3-10 but if you are studying medicine it's 6-3-3-20

It is said that a goat owned by the community is often left unattended to. The ownership of the University should be ceded to one of the states and compensation made to the other as this joint ownership has not really helped the institution.

What a useless University management and thoughtless staff. They should have seen this coming? This is the only university that keeps passing NUC accreditations through backdoor arrangements and manipulation even when they know nothing is working - no working laboratory, the library is just a building with outdated books, no reasonable collections of journals and current conference proceedings.

During the last NUC accreditation exercise in May/June 2018, they thought they were fooling the world - NUC inclusive. They issued fictitious appointment letters to every jobless graduate and postgraduate student they could think of, created files for them as potential staff, yet no letter was handed to those hapless individuals. They use them to beef up the staff-student ratio on paper, but deep down they know they were no staff, they signed no assumption of duty document. What kind of university would decide to write official letters duly signed by the registrar, received by the Deans and the Heads of Departments with the knowledge of ASUU, SSANU, NASU, NAAT.

Many of these Departments, Units, Sections have Pastors, Imams, and other so-called Born-again Christians and Muslims - where is their conscience?

Less than two months period was used for registration, lectures and examination in the last semester. All the staff and students know this! Any future for this system? Find out their recruitment strategies - (1) politically inclined, (2) through back doors, (3) appeasement god fathers, (4) how many sound-minded academics remain in the university? The staff are divided along ethnic and religious lines to the detriments of the students. Right before their noses, LAUTECH is undeniably regarded all over the world as the only Accredited Yahoo-Plus University.

Truth be told all of them - management, staff, students, religious fanatics- are part of this mess! What was the outcome of the staff and financial audit? Great revelation of corruption!

This was not the LAUTECH led by Professors Olusegun Oke and Akinola M. Salau.

Though it seems to be an end-time LAUTECH, I can only pray that this will not be the beginning of the end of LAUTECH.

I do not know where they had the idea of co-managing.....Imo state ceded then IMSU...now ABSU...knowing that Abia had no university as at 1991......
FG cannot because Osun and Oyo states already have individual Federal Universities......
The best will be for Osun state to cede it to Oyo state since the latter do not have a functional state owned-University......
Especially now Osun needs the money,they should get some compensation....imho..and look for a way to incorporate the staff from Osun state.....

the present and previous govts are simply insincere, last year the same unions national chapter went on strike for 4 months until the govt promised to pay the 8 billion agreed upon within 5 weeks ,this was in march this year, its 6 months now and nothing has been paid.

Oyo state has been campaigning to Osun to allow it take over the school. Osun State that don't have the money to spend on the school is refusing! As long as Osun is not willing to give up their claim, the crisis will continue

It is really sad as the students are worse for it.

Osun should withdrew her staff from LAUTECH to Osun State University. But before then, valuers should know the worth of the school and make Oyo State to pay Osun Government a proportionate sum of her investment in a single tranche. Oyo State workers in LAUTECH Teaching Hospital should also be recalled by Oyo State Government.
