Hello auto gurus,

I'm a bachelor, earning an average of 140k monthly income and intend to get a car

I need the car so that I can beat time to work and the hassles of going to work using public transportation.

Please any candid advice on what make of car to go for that is affordable in terms of maintenance, reliability and availability of spare parts?

Because I'm a benz fan, I'm thinking of the 2003 c240. However, other opinions are highly welcomed.

Bro,Get a benz...Forgot about corolla.....Corolla is very visible for criminals..
C240-2003 model is very ok.....but if you can get the 2005/2006 model would be most preferable.

You can go for a Toyota matrix/ Golf 4, easy on fuel consumption, cheap to maintain

This is exactly what you need is Benz c230 2006 compressor . 4 plugs and the best Benz for someone who wanna save money... all the parts are cheap and maintenance very cheap....no criminal will harass you. The last price is N1.950million

I am in the same scenario like you... I am thinking of going for Corolla but i hear lots of funny stories about it.... And right now i am planning on going for a Camry i4 xle 2005/2006... That will save me more money on fuel and maintenance

Old Benz require lots of maintenance which that salary can't handle. Look for a tokunbo 2003-2007 Corolla. It's cheap to maintain and will give you peace of mind.
