Dr. Victor Alewo Adoji has made clear his intention to clinch the Kogi East Senatorial Seat.

The banking Czar also got a major boost recently when immediate past governor of Kogi State, Captain Idris Wada and his predecessor, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris openly endorsed his nomination to run for the seat.

He visited the former governors separately in Abuja for endorsement after obtaining the PDP nomination form.

He described them (Wada and Idris) as credible leaders of the party who have laboured to keep hope alive in Kogi state.

The Senate aspirant has so far toured six local government areas in Kogi East to declare his interest to vie for the much-coveted senate seat.

In his speech at his declaration in Ofu Local Government, Adoji said he was there as an aspirant for the people to convert him to a candidate.

He said he is worried when he sees youths without employment as what he sees are not human beings but industries.

“Manifesto was something that was built in the 50s and 60s and it is not a workable material, I will not have one for you. What I will sign with you is a social contract where you will tell me what you will want me to do for you and not what I want to do for you.

“The world is evolving and countries are moving away from oil, most developed countries of the world do not rely on mineral resources because they do not even have one, what they rely on is the strength of their innovation.

“I will sign a contract with you and will want any other person contesting with me if given the mandate to do so, after 24 months as your Senator I do not move you from where we are to where Kogi East should be, recall me,” he said.

He said he was aware that as their Senator, he will not have the budget to build schools, build hospitals, build roads, but would ask them to carry him on their shoulders to where he can drag these basic things down to the people.

Thank you oojare... his only contribution to the state is one castle he built for himself. Nothing more.

Brilliant and will definitely be a major change for Kogi Politics.

Both him and Hon TJ Yusuf were intellectual student leaders at Economics Dept In Unijos in the 90s, leading MASS with Akpala/Oriaku/Okotie and they led series of populist student struggles eventually.

Given the other competitors so far in Kogi East Senatorial Tussle, i will definitely watch out for Victor.

Dino is from the west while he's aspiring for the east. I pray he succeeds because the whole of Kogi east have never had a 'senator' for this dispensation.

It is sad to read comments based on sentiments. Victor is a very passionate philanthropist, if you happen to come across him or have any close contact with him, you will appreciate the enormous contributions he has rendered to Igala youths. He is currently putting up a mini estate in his home town as a cooperative venture for those who can't afford to build there own homes . unfortunately he is not going for an executive position where he can use his capacity to bring meaningful development to Kogi state, but his intellect, voice and passion will attract great development as a senator. WATCH OUT FOR THIS GUY

Someone that said he doesn't have a manifesto? You know what it means when a politician says he wants a social contract with the people? If he promises to make drinkable water accessible to the people of Kogi East and he manages to provide just two communities with two boreholes, do you know that he has fulfilled his contract with the people? Kogi East Senatorial District has never had a good and competent leader. We need one now more than any other time in our history. We don't need clever people. We need real men with actual integrity.

There is no doubt that you are coming to rescue Kogi East Senatorial District from the lingering dungeon in which we found oursellves (Those who know you) will testify. God-sent messaiah is there already. Keep it up.
