NECA Says Staff of Organised Private Sector Not Part of NLC Strike (Read Press Statement)

NECA is the umbrella organization of employers in the Organised Private Sector of Nigeria. It was formed in 1957 to provide the forum for the Government to consult with private sector employers on socio-economic and labour policy issues.

Though it is quite sad that there is no single unit to challenge government at union level.

This disparity will be very well appreciated by politicians and will be part of the undoing of the citizens going into 2019 election.

Apc at work. Only a kid won't understand the govt tactics in situations like this, instead of tackling the problem on the table, they prefer to create more crisis

The NLC president said the claims by state governors that they cannot pay salary is due to high level of corruption, excessive cost of governance, indulgence in obscene lifestyle, white elephant projects and not lack of funds.

Is it now the NLC now agrees on its above statement?


Nigeria of yester years, we were more united than this, a fight for one was a fight for all... when citizens stay up till 12 midnight just to hear update on strike action.

Now no one takes any union serious, they are all bunch of corrupt nitwits.

Where were they when fuel increased to 145?
Where were they when contract staff is now a norm?
Where were they when job loss rose to 15m majorly of private and blue collar?

Why should Private sector go on strike over the public sectors salary.
In the private sector people get sacked every minute and their salaries are peanuts while Government employees have a guarantee job with pension

Among all the arms of LABOUR, Neca is the most corrupt. They collect bribe from the organized private sector that is why they still pay factory workers 10k per month as salary and NECA doing nothing about it

And Private sector workers are the most oppressed of them all. Give them 30k when they are worth 100k and they still keep quiet.... Mtcheeewww!

NECA is not a labor union. They are employers association. They are like state and federal government.

Insurance companies are organized private sector. It no affect una. But if it is national insuranc commission, then the strike affects you.

Instead of calling for strike ,they should rather use that energy to mobilize their members to Collect PVCs and participate fully in the coming elections and vote in the government that will take care of their welfare
