That's the problem with this country. We love shifting responsibilities and denying accountabilities. We blame our government for almost everything. What role have you played in the betterment of your country? It's people like you that wants Nigeria to be like China but will eventually vote in Buhari next year. Yet, you'll continue blaming the old man for another four years.
Like I said earlier on, our major problem is that we have thinking problem. Not until we start thinking creatively, constructively, innovatively, analytically and logically, we may never get things right.
since you seem to be a bit analytical, who would you rather he votes, amongst likely contenders?

They were already igbos in Nigeria before the rest of you came.

It is you and your Yoruba people that should pack up and leave to Egypt or Sudan where you folks migrated from.

The youth needs to rise above partisan politics, religion and ethnicity and fight for common good. We are too docile as a nation, that is the reason why the politians are taking us for a ride. Why can't we have massive peaceful protest going on for weeks as seen in Europe and elsewhere to bring a non performing government to her knees ? i don't see things changing if we don't do more than criticising government on social media and praying in the next 100 years.

100% CORRECT. No protest, No strikes, No Occupy Nigeria. We are ALL cowards. If strike is organized, the leaders get bribed and the strike is suspended or ended abruptly. The people suffering also gets tired and fade up easily if protest or strike seems not to yield immediate expected result. You organize strike or street procession today with 30 participants for example, by next day you are on your own or left with only two. Then we are very quick to leave the rest or everything to God and seat back waiting for miracles to fall from heaven. Our Pastors, Prophets and Imams encourages us to pray fervently for God to overthrow our bad leaders for us. Our leaders are happy each time they hear us scream on TVs and Radios that we "leave everything to God", and "God will help us". Those countries that have their bad and corrupt leaders changed through revolutions don't have God. We are also afraid of our lives and what would be the fate of the wealth we have amassed either rightly or wrongly should there be a revolution. WE ARE ALL COWARDS!

mind you, the only importance of ur PVC is to open or upgrade ur bank account

Told you your vote is a waste of time when you have thousands of others who cannot make an informed decision at the polls. That is not the fault of leadership. Nigeria is in this mess because of Nigerians not Nigerian leadership. That is why before elections, before the economy, before any quest for progress is a collective decision of the people what they want out of life and what vehicle of values they are willing to adopt to take them there.

Clearly the people of Osun for example do not share the same values with other nationals as to what they want out of democracy. So no one, neither they themselves can then turn and blame leadership for failing. They have chosen. So before a country can change the people have to change the way they think. That is the basis for our frequent call for restructuring. Unfortunately the thought process has been truncated to mean a change in the way government works and some as ridiculous as asking for more states or regions or whatever.

Can we stop blaming Nigerian leaders please... They're first humans before being a leader. Or are they not humans like us? Is it not people like you and I that are busy electing them into power despite knowing clearly how corrupt they can be? Then why blaming them?
In fact, our leaders has no share in the overall problems befalling this nation. What we need is a rethink, mental restructuring and intellectual overhauling. We also have to work on our emotional intelligence and use of feelings and sentimental approach in influencing our overall judgements. I'm beginning to doubt if what is inside Nigerians head is truly a brain or a dead panel. Even if it's a motherboard, I expect it to function more than that. Our major problem is that we keep taking delights in making the wrong decision. I gave up on my country some few years ago.
You contradict yourself. If the north can be separated from the south, there will be progress. We cannot keep voting in leaders on the platter of religion and ethnicity.

Hmmm.... so you think. But Osun is in the south and has clearly chosen to maintain the failed status quo in governance. How do you explain that.

You are very correct my Israeli man, the masses vote them believing they will do the right thing, but unfortunately they go there, steal and humiliate those that voted them in. We need not hide the ills of the leaders to the world because they are all exposed already. Imagine the president saying at the UN that he was disappointed at INEC decision, yet, he did not tell him to announce PDP as winner but prefer to fraudulent rig to win. Hear him congratulate Oyetola, what a shame of a president and total hypocrisy.

Everything points to before, during and after the Nigeria/Biafra war. There was a revolution on January 15, 1966 however most Nigerians missed the train due to tribal urge. Nigeria will never get better than the present situation without disintegration.

The issue with Nigerians and Africans as a whole is we give little to nothing to our governments in terms of taxes, so we have absolutely no feelings of being cheated. Our governments also have no reason to invest in our progress since all their earnings come from the sales of mineral resources. All successful democracies are run on taxes.
Are those in government the owners of our minerals?

"I'm an Israeli that lived in Nigeria for 5 years working on an agricultural project in Plateau State.

Nigeria is no better or no worse than any other country in the world. Every country has it's advantages and dis-advantages.

The leadership is the biggest Nigerian problem with rife corruption and lack of basic humanity.

The Nigerian people are suffering from a lack of leadership and too much religious dogma.

One of the main problems with Nigerians is that they are too tolerant of their politicians. No strikes or protest marches for justice. They have come to terms with the fact that they have to bribe a government official, customs officer, police officer, immigration officer just to progress in life."

Such comment pisses me off.

How can a reasonable human being say/defend our leaders. Where we can see glaringly in the just concluded Osun election that the leaders don't accept the wishes of the common man.
They are all human beings who decided to change their nomencleture immediately they assume political offices.
If the youths continue supporting these criminals in power, we will end up being paupers in our own country.
The problem with us is that shit-ass politicians give us 1000 naira and we start jumping up in jubilation. We vote based on sentiments, tribal line, party affliatiation and not on credibility.

Well the said man made some valid points but I completely disagree with this, "The leadership is the biggest Nigerian problem with rife corruption and lack of basic humanity."

The quoted above is what most Nigerians use to deceive themselves. The biggest nigerian problem is Nigerians. Nigerian leaders are a reflection of an average nigerian. An average Nigerian is corrupt, supports or aids corruption. Corruption involves two or more parties. More than 70% of nigerians between the age of 20 and upward have been involved, aided or supported corruption one way or the other without knowing it. For example I was at the passport office last month and I have already been given collection date a month before. On getting there on the given date my passport was not ready and mind you the system has been made seamless but if the officers abide by the rule of the seamless system then there will be no money for them from the applicants. So they have to truncate the seamless system so that they can get their money from the applicants. If the system say come tomorrow then it will be ready as stated but they will never do your passport but that of those who pay higher.

The highest bidder gets first. Now the cost of the passport for 32 pages is 15k originally but people pay as high as 30k, 40k etc. If you do strong head that you will not pay more than the official price and you dont know anybody, then God help you. Even to collect collect your passport you have to tip somebody if you dont know anybody else people before you will collect and leave you there. I did strong head for 4 weeks and I dont know anybody but when my interview date started approaching fast nobody taught me what to do oooo. I fought hard not to be involved in this act but I cant beat the system so I joined. So you see the officer that helped me is corrupt and I also aided him. So in reality we are both corrupt. So mention any 10 persons you know that has not been involved in this kind of things there are other example oooo I just sited the passport office. But I must commend an officer there if just 40% of Nigerians are like him then that man wouldnt say what he said about our country.

IF YOU PUT 8 BLACK BALLS AND 2 WHITE BALLS IN A BOX. Then the probability that you will always pick black balls is higher than white. This is Nigeria situation today. Our leaders are a reflection of who we are as people. So let us stop crying that they are our problem. We are the problem, we didnt elect them from mars but amongst ouselves. We want good leaders but we are not good ourselves. Where are they gonna come from Can you give what you dont have

Let's change our ways my people!!!

And you think leadership is about eating pop corn and drinking Pepsi?
You are not even ready to walk your assistance off your seats how much more be a leader of a complex contraption like Nigeria.

The youths of this country are not focused and to me, they will be terrible consequences if a youth with no known background is given leadership position.

People like Kingsley Moghalu, Tope Fasua seem to know how to go about these problems if they are given the needed opportunity.
As for the rest of them, they are just rabble rousers who are looking to add to their fame by participating in politics.

I beg to differ.

It is a tough call to say which group is worse between the leaders and the masses.

I believe that about 90% of Nigerians are horrible people and the total mess in the society is as a result of that.

The politicians in Nigeria did not fall from Mars or Jupiter.

Terrible is an understatement. That Osun election confirmed my negative impression about majority of Nigerians. The masses are the problems of this country. I'm in it. You're in it. Thank God that we all are in it together. Spending a day abroad is way preferable to spending eternity in Nigeria. The youths of this country confirmed my belief and affirmation that there's no hope and future for this country again. Hoping for a better tomorrow is a wishful thought that can't be achieved with confusion, docility and misplaced priority. That must be an utmost deception. Truly, there was a country.

Nnamdi KANU started it and what was ur position then?
