One of the chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Orji Uzor Kalu, has reacted to the victory of the party in the just concluded Osun state gubernatorial election.

Kalu reacted to the victory on Twitter shortly after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Gboyega Oyetola, the governorship candidate of the party, as the winner.

The party chieftain, posting an edited picture on Twitter, compared the victory of the ruling to that of Anthony Joshua, the famous Nigerian-born British boxer.

Meanwhile, Senator Ademola Adeleke, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s governorship candidate in the Osun state election, has vowed to retrieve his ‘stolen mandate’ from the APC at the Election Petition Tribunal.

He made the comment in a chat with newsmen shortly before the returning officer, Prof Joseph Fuwape, announced the final figure for the Osun gubernatorial re-run election on Thursday, September 27.

Speaking through his brother, Dele Adeleke, the candidate said the PDP’s next step would be to proceed to the tribunal.
Similarly, the PDP has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to declare, Senator Ademola Adeleke, its candidate in the Osun state governorship election the winner of the poll.

The party made the demand after emerging from an emergency meeting where it deliberated on the Thursday, September 27, Osun rerun election.

The national chairman of the party, Prince Uche Secondus, described the exercise as a mockery of the electoral process, warning that the outcome of the poll was an indication that the future of Nigerian democracy is bleak and the nation sliding into crises
