The PDP leadership surrendered Osun.

When it came to crunch time, the PDP let Adeleke down. He must have felt like an orphan

Almost everyone knew Omisore would be vital. You can ask the US embassy. The PDP sent no one. Saraki went with Okupe who is just coming out of retirement. Saraki's entourage had looked rich until the APC visited Omisore.

The APC showed desperation. And put its birthright on the line. The party chairman was there. 6 governors went with him. They must have seen the chickens offered at that shrine by the PDP. And they must have offered cows.

Even if Omisore were a pastor.

The PDP chairman was in Wike's boyquarters in Port Harcourt. Wike himself was not interested. He is peering down his political microscope looking for the most painful ways to deal with the party if they mess with him.

Okowa didnt show up. Fayose was working out his exit route. Even that refugee , the governor of Kwara, didn't show up.

They left it to Davido and his uncle.

The APC meticulously took back Lasun whose intimidating influence in Orolu LGA was proved last week. While the APC patched up its net, the PDP ran helter skelter, from pillar to post and then to court.

It was injury time.

Even Fani Kayode who is from Ife was nowhere to be seen. He must have been in Abuja. From there he was calling Omisore. And must have warned him not to join hands with the Fulani jihadists! He saw no need to lend a helping hand in knocking at doors for Adeleke. But he will take to twitter today and let out emotions.

Where was Ben Bruce? Where was his love for the party?
He was tweeting it from Abuja while Ganduje was sleeping in Ile Ife.

We can forgive Dino Melaye. He is not sure of his own ticket yet. But where were Gbenga Daniel and Atiku?

Atiku was needed in Orolu!

These social media noises cant help anyone.

The leaders of the PDP failed Adeleke. And they failed him big time.

But you know what ? They will blame it on Buhari.
Good analysis,This present bunch of PDP leaders are Cowards.

Femi Makinde, Osogbo

The streets of Osogbo and other major towns in Osun State have remained calm, devoid of jubilation by supporters of the All Progressives Congress despite the declaration of the candidate of the party, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, as the winner of the governorship election.

Our correspondent observed that the kind of wild jubilation that usually follows such electoral victory is lacking in the state.

As of 10:45 am, Olaiya Junction, which is usually the meeting point for protest and jubilation was clam but security men were stationed there to prevent the breakdown of the law and order especially from residents who believed that the election was openly rigged in favour of Oyetola.

Army patrol vans are stationed at Okefia Motor park and other volatile areas in a bid to prevent protest which some people believe may trail the announcement of the poll results.

The candidate of the Propels Democratic Party, Senator Ademola Adeleke, led in the first ballot by 353 votes but the APC candidate came from behind to win the poll amidst allegations of intimidation of voters and brazen rigging with the cooperation of security agents.

Local and foreign observers and many residents of the state have criticised the APC led Federal Government over the election.

I am in Oshogbo. I just heard of a man who was killed for speaking against the ruling party. I have driven all over town all i see is army men posted at junctions, parks and the spare parts market at Ajegunle.

Post pictures to back up your claim.

Did you post picture to back up your own claim? You are now a taxi driving touching every corner of the town yet no pictures. Hypocrisy is your last name

Where are you at?

If you're in Oshogbo PM me let's meet. Take me to where they are celebrating and I promise I will treat you to a nice dinner and post the pictures here with a public apology.

You couldn't have even put than this, the irony of it all is that the PDP presidential ticket they are all fighting for is no the paper they can't easily even win just only seven polling units of less than 3000 in just four local governments. How much can they even think of winning a whole country with millions of voters.
Infact they just forget about the presidency cause they can't win it.

One of the horrible legacies of the Obasanjo 2007 elections. Using the army to stifle the electoral process. But the subsequent elections had taken the country to better refined processes before this 360 degrees turn. Certainly a tyrant has come to power.

that's to tell you that they are not popular and no where to be found again. they even make use of armies in all the 7 polling units, even the people that's participating in the yesterday rerun election isn't up to 1500, I hope you can see their desperation already. if pdp can put their house in order for good, they will win in their presidential election. they can only send 400000 armies to all the 36 states and federal capital territory. Apc are gone for good.

Something must be wrong with this news.

The news reported Osogbo as being calm, but the result states APC having landslide victory.

How come the town where a candidate had his heaviest vote reported being devoid of happiness?

The report seems being an irony of the event.
May be the choice of the people was not granted
