Well, I wasn't the one that suggested Waze, I've been a fan and user of Google Map for over 4 years now and it hasn't disappointed me. Try Google Maps, I'm sure you'll love it!

I've tested Waze, still can't be compared to Google Map. Google Map has more features including showing your current location and many more. If you've been using Google Map dear, you wouldn't want to use any other map.

What stops them from giving offline map downloads like Here Map with options to update when you are using free Wi-Fi

I use Google map offline for navigation. Last week when travelling to an area I have never been before in ondo state, I simply downloaded the map of the area offline and it was less than 50MB. Just navigated with my GPS.
