A lot of people have thrown a heavy punch on the recent concluded "Osun Rerun", regarding it as uncostitutional and uncivilised... well they are the category of people #APC referred to as a "Political novice". Rerun has been held many times in Nigeria and under PDP regime, if it is unconstitutional, PDP brought it. The entire intelligentsia is scratching their furrowed brows, desperately hoping to solve the nation most pressing, baffling and enigmatic riddle of our age before its zero hour. This people and their kinship are not new to Nigerian's... 16 years under monarchical rule, supplanting good and replacing them with bad, enriching themselves with public funds while the State that generate the source of their richness is left sinking. I have gone through the recent article published by "Dele Momodu" where He posit that "Politics as a game of numbers must be approached meticulously, And that Nigeria needs a young, energetic and cosmopolitan leader" and further stress that "From the multitude of PDP aspirants and even the cacophony of permutations about who can challenge Buhari to a duel, it is becoming clear, to discerning minds, that there are only two, possibly three serious challengers and no more. Of these three, two currently stand tall. One is old and the other is young". Nigeria as a country has grown beyound the age of politics, the age of seeking to influence people for one's personal interest. Ironically... Okay, we know where he's headed but wait! does Nigeria truely need a "Youth" at the time of decline or "Effectiveness" and a "Truthfulness" regardless of the age? Though Youthfulness counts but at this critical stage, it is not necessary. We have a youth as President recently, haven't we seen His pattern of governance? More recently an Institution headed by a youth almost fallen, gone on recess for... if not a lifetime, hasn't that taking us backward in some aspects? And those Dele Momodu referred to as effective has performed before our very own eye and we know their capabilities: one was a Governor of one of the most under-developed State in Nigeria and the other a Vice President under a Dictatorship Leader who has woefully brought us down during their reigns. Effective? He tagged those people. Yea, to an extend, i think He is right! After all they seem to be something like fiendishly clever geniuses, even more... at least when it comes to enriching themselves and hoarding power. In times of decline the fundamental organisational job of a leader is offering a New Deal, it doesn't matter whether the organisation being led is a country or a corperation or a club - the challenge is precisely the same. If the Law is "The higher the position, the higher the level of performance... If though I wasn't born then, as a Student of Political Science a field that is connected to History. I have read about President Buhari's regime as Military and as PTF Chairman and i have known his performance well then. And now His performance and effectiveness is glaring, I do not need to open a cover of papers to be convienced that in the history of Nigeria, we have never had such Effective President, or in any level of government institution. so do other patriotic Nigerian's persive too. And if one is going to come with any means of propaganda please don't come with "Effectiveness, Youth an Politics or Political Party"... we have read far beyound that, we don't need to be told qualities of a good leader, we pronunce it the way we shout ABCD in our early days of school, moreover one's past record set it straight. What makes a Leader effective to amass wealth and fortune or for people's lives to expand into their fullest potentials?Nigeria is looking for transformation, ... a whole new changes in the societal structures: Politics, Economy, Health System, Education and of course Development. Today majority of Nigeria who are not pre-occupied by self-interest especially Youths can point and predict to where our country is heading to, isn't that what everyone want? sincerity in governance. Following the path of PDP again No!!!It is going to take a new social contract, to return back to our track as a country, or we will remain under developed till eternity. - By Nasiru Eneji AbdulRasheed |

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yuiaIs7dd-A Buhari at UNGA was talking about Syria and Myanmar. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N6ybHkE4snQ Ghana's president talks about global economics and how it affects Ghana's fortune. Forty-four per cent of Nigerians are living in extreme poverty, whereas 9 per cent of Ghanaians are in this condition. For the past 15 years, Nigeria has suffered various forms of civil unrest, leading to massive loss of lives and property. Yet Myanmar is the issue to be discussed. RIP, General Alkali. May the good Lord provide comfort for your family in this difficult time. |
