Should I Continue With My School Or Accept A Military Career by ExposedWicked: 8:49pm On Sep 30, 2018
two years ago i dropped out of the university. My sponsor, that is my dad, refused to continue with the sponsorship because of a made up excuse my mum formulated.

I was to graduate before my elder brother that spent years in school and since my mum never loved me from kid, i had to cope with any decision she made then, not minding the consequence... My elder brother was like a god in the house and i was, as usual, just another stupid guy... Let me skip the family drama and go straight to the point.

I dropped out in year three and when i couldn't face the humiliation, i applied as a recruit to the Nigerian Airforce. I was turned down after few screening. I also applied for Navy and got the same result. I met some military strong heads to help me work out my recruitment but they turned me down(notably, General Obada(rtd) Former Minister of Works. General David Ejoor, Formal Governor of western Nigeria and even General Oneya). The depression was so much on me then that i felt the entire world was against me... A lot of stuffs happened to me then but let just skip the story..

So, recently i was given admission into the university i dropped out from . That same week i saw the admission notification, i also was invited to join The Nigerian Airforce through a slot .... Have been working hard for the Airforce ever since and now it just came like a punch..

Right now, i don't know what to do. If i should accept the military slot or go ahead with the school...

I need your advice. Please pardon my grammatical errors...

Thank you for your advice.
What if the military stuff turns out not to work out ?

Am also paying for the slot too. If i should join the force, that means i would have to give up the school and betray my school sponsor

I kinda of some things related. I was in 2nd semester ND1 when I lost my dad and all hopes were lost that I won't be able to complete but eventually I was able to completey ND 2 with His grace. Then I applied for Nigerian Army during my IT so I can be able to sponsor myelf to complete my HND but it didn't work out the following year which was last year I planned to apply for Navy which I did and fortunately a sponsor showed up for my HND which I now have two plans I didn't neglect any till one terminated itself. I was unable to go for the navy exam cos I had the exam on the same day with HND entrance exam then I choosed HND over it believing DSS is still there cos I really have this passion for military. So advice is be assured slot will work out or better still your sponsor won't get tired. The best will work out well in Jesus name

If it's NAF! Guy, push enter joor! 4k civilian life! 4k sch, imagine urself working around wt files seeking for job after 'wasting ' like 5yrs in sch.

If na army I go discourage you, but as na airforce, career dey there. While serving, u can apply for study leave n do short courses.

NB: no rush defer admission yet till they invite you for training in camp. Defer ur university admission wen u r like 3months in camp.

Remember say dem dey bounce guys during training too. So, apply to defer university only

Bravo for putting up with all the emotional torture from the family angle you mentioned. You must be a strong dude

While you've taken a wise step to seek for advice, realize the final responsibility is YOURS

With that said, who do you look up to as a mentor? Whose life inspires you?

There must be SOMEONE whose story inspires you.

Now, which of those 2 options will bring you closer to your dream life?

Choose wisely

Thanks again for sharing
