Nigeria is 58 years old today, Today should not be a day of recounting, emphasizing and trumpeting the country's woes but a day to critically analyse what indeed every one of us has done to alleviate the situation of his/her immediate community and by extension the bigger community, from there we can actually see if we are a solution or a burden to this country.
We should devote ourselves to Service to the country with whatever talents, skills and gifts we have because our innate fulfillment and happiness lies in being of use in our individual capacities to this Great country.
A country can never be greater than the content of citizens living within it, let's all strive to be proactive, productive, absolutely useful and be invaluable assets to our fellow citizens and to the country.
This is where we have been birthed and placed, we will be of absolute use here in this land and will thrive here.

I end this with what the Sage Abraham Lincoln said 'ask not what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country'
I believe this 58th year would be a landmark year and a great year for all and sundry who believe so.

Happy 58th Birthday Nigeria!
God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

You can write a good grammar for the country, but it will not deny the fact that nothing changes.
It good to be optimistic and to envisage tremendous achievements but I we doing what we supposed to do as a nation to give us edge in the comity of nation.
Permit my words, no nation can reach it eldorado when it's being operated the way Nigeria is being operated.

Happy independence day Nigeria.

God bless you.

Somehow, I just give myself hope about the country. Hope is getting harder and harder to have every coming year.

May you Nigeria, come out of your reproach and into your position of glory.

May the past and present leaders who continue to put this country in reproach for their selfish gains, PAY THE ULTIMATE PRICE.

Amen.

Our Happy Independence Day post was sent to the front page by 03:00am and yet some members want me to believe this forum does not have a closing time.
Although we haven't reached there and I doubt we will soon I still say Happy Independence Day to my great country, the land of my birth and the place I might get cremated in.
We have achieved a milestone, 58 years without overt British rule. No matter how bad things are we are still better off without them. Anyone trying to claim otherwise should personally investigate the living conditions of blacks in Soweto and similar townships.
Na barbecue things get me today. I must chop suya or roasted chicken.
close ur mouth abeg. Better of without then? Abeg

Happy independence, my country. You have slumbered too long. You have tarried in standing up to fight your oppressors. Our leaders have undermined and taken undue advantage of your great potentials. But fight on, you will overcome someday.

God bless Nigeria and her people!

PS: Weird as it may seem, I still go about shoulders high and with much pride of being a Nigerian. I just can’t explain it neither do I know why.
Allah Blessed Nigeria

“As a nation, we need good leaders. Leaders who we all can trust, the kind of leaders who always put public interests above their political or personal interests, so that the yearnings and aspirations of the commoners can be realized. This is my message to all as we mark this year Independence Day anniversary. Have a fun celebration.”

HAPPY INDEPENDENT DAY NIGERIA

There is no other country we can call our own except this great country. The land is good and green, we just have bad leaders. Vote for Donald Duke and take Nigeria higher. HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY NIGERIA

Only the unpatriotic citizens of the country are stupidly celebrating independence without electricity in their homes. Just few days ago armed Fulani militias backed by security agencies are attacking middle belt villages slaughtering innocent citizens and just a few days ago a family was murdered together with their neighbouring residents, b4 these recent killings we had a case of another Fulani massacre that claimed over 300 lives and their homes taken over by the killers and I see unpatriotic Nigerians here with no sense of humanity celebrating independence of the country meanwhile your fellow compatriots in plateau are in a terrible state of grief and siege. Do anybody think the independence anniversary is celebrated in plateau? Benue and other middle belt villages taken over by Fulani killers? There's not even electricity here what stupid independence is worth celebrating? Y'all wait until the the jihad gets to ur door steps in a couple years and then u would have no country to celebrate independence anniversary. I'm not from middle belt, I am from Urhobo Delta state but I'm just concerned about the ills of this country and I'm vexed that some of you are here celebrating independence when the blood of your innocent fellow citizens wets the land and cry for justice. Its so fvcked up having you type "happy independence"
