Like the confirmation of a Supreme court justice is being held up because of an alleged assault that occurred 30+ years ago. Plus if he was still at Madrid, he'd be getting much more hate, and we know Spanish football politics is off the rails. It was a Spanish source that leaked the settlement on Total Football Leaks which led to Der Spiegel running the story. The source even leaked his text messages with his lawyer. If some reporter put out a story that Messi abused his kids or someone died because of a DUI drive that was his fault, I would at least wait for an official conclusion of investigation before going all honcho. Leave the tabloid stuff for the tabloids. They're trying to make paper. A Swedish creative luminary (director) was falsely accused of sexual misconduct by several people last year. Papers carried it, he lost his job, reputation was tarnished. Earlier this year he committed suicide while on an outing with his wife who stood by him. A few weeks later, pending investigation proved all the allegations were false. One actress accused him of asking her to get an abortion before he'd cast her, it was later found that his comment was that it was unfortunate she was heavily pregnant and could not be cast in the role. His accusers were later criticized as murderers and the Swedish #MeToo movement is currently on a hiatus. Juventus, Samsung, EA, Nike who sponsor him wouldn't even respond. The girl is even calling for anyone else with a similar allegation to come forward. Read a story on Yahoo Sports where a feminist was complaining that people aren't vilifying Ronaldo as much as she'd have hoped. And I was like b*tch, a ceasefire in a war had to be declared because Pele was visiting. Maradona is a religion. A Messi fan left a suicide note because Argentina lost a match. You have no idea how badly millions of diehard Cristiano fans want that lady to disappear like a mafia informant who broke the Omerta code. The reason why the story is getting reported in mainstream media is because of #MeToo.
