Oh no i am in Edmonton.
But I am sure you can get anything you want on rentfaster.ca or rentboard.ca or even kijiji

Download dingtone to get a Canadian line so you can contact the landlords when you find one. They tend not to pick up foreign numbers from my experience.

This wasn’t directed to me but I appreciate it nonetheless. Thanks a lot. Do you live in Mississauga? Can you help with finding a shared accommodation?

Oh thanks a lot for this.
Just seeing it.

9jaincanada:

You have the option to open a US Dollar account, a Canadian chequing (known as current account in Nigeria) and savings account in most Canadian banks. You can change what you need to your Canadian dollar bank account and keep the rest in your US Dollar account.I have listed summaries of the types of bank accounts available here: https://www.instagram.com/9jaincanada/.

Most mobile network companies would sign you up for a contract as long as you have a Canadian credit card. The two main types of contracts are SIM only and SIM with phone contract. I have provided a link to the list of Canadian mobile networks companies on my blog: https://9jaincanada.com/blog/after-you-arrive-6-crucial-steps-to-getting-ahead . I use Fido mobile network, however the province you live in would determine which network you should go for. Shop around after you land and then make your decision from there.

Didn't know this kind of thread exists and I'm happy I saw it at the right time.

I just concluded my first degree last month and personally I feel like leaving the country already grin man no wn do service sef.. I no need am grin grin

Jokes apart, I told my bro about leaving the country, he wasn't against it and advised I go to Canada (i was thinking of Sweden or Normay thk grin). He said it's even better I use the link of going for masters in Canada to leave the country and personally, I'm not a fan of masters.. I'm not even planning to further any education but he was adamant that is a better option. He said things will be a little bit easier for me considering I will be studying there. Said the family will just look for money for rent, food and part payment of my school fees and he's projecting like 5m will solve it

So house, I don't have any idea about Canada and I'm very sure God willing, I will leave Nigeria after my service. I just need someone to tell me things I need to know about Canada, is the Masters link very sure? What's the goodies that come with masters students? Like how much should I budgeting?

Thanks

If you go via masters, you would qualify for a postgraduate work permit, it permits you to work and live in canada for about 2 to 3yrs after your masters. While on your postgraduate work permit, you can apply for a permanent resident visa that would allow you live in canada indefinitely and become a canadian citizen.

For masters, i think your tuition would be about $14k, while living expenses would be about $10k per annum. You would granted work permit as a student that wpulf allow you work part time to assist with your living expenses.

During my information session with IOM, someone said they were able to open an account with Scotia bank from Nigeria.

They were also able to make transfers into the account though I think there's a restriction on making withdrawals till you land.

You could do a google search to confirm this though.

Thank you for this work
SixSigma1:

With @vascey asking about mentoring, it got me thinking about how I can contribute to the success of my fellow citizens who are already in Calgary and surrounding areas (Airdrie, Chestermere etc) in their Canadian dream . In view of this and despite my very busy schedule, I have decided to offer crash course in Lean Six Sigma Black Belt FREE OF CHARGE for Nairalanders in Calgary and surrounding areas. The course will take place on a Saturday and it will take 4 hours. You will learn the basic Lean Six Sigma tools and the basics of Lean Six Sigma to enable you decide if it is something you want to do to boost your existing career or to jump start your career in Canada.

In order for me to do this and for it to be worth my time and effort there has to be minimum of 3 people interested in taking the course. When we get the required minimum number of people we can use one of the libraries in Calgary as the venue of the course. I know that some libraries in Calgary have meeting rooms that they give out free of charge for this type of community support activity. So, we can take advantage of that.

If we have more interest than the meeting room can take, I am willing to have multiple sessions to accommodate all interested Nairalanders. If you are not in Calgary but willing to come to Calgary for the session you are also welcome to attend.

The only two things I am asking for in return for this free course are:
1. For you to also help other people succeed free of charge in any capacity you may have. Let the circle of help continue.
2. Not to take the offer for granted by coming late to or being absent at the sessions scheduled date just because you are getting it for free. Please be mindful of my time.

Finally, if you are interested, make your interest known by posting here on the general platform.

Let me ask this; is it possible to switch career by only getting the black belt in six sigma certification.

Can I get opportunities in Thompson?

Winnipeg will probably be the best bet for you.....You can do a YouTube tour of Thompson to see if you will like the place...You can see all the streets of any city on youtube

Thats amazing , it does pay well thou am not in that Field. But do you have experience also. And some times jobs like that requires u have at least an enhanced reliability security clearance..but sometimes u might not need it for private companies.

It's all the same. I personally go with TD because they open later than most banks, and are usually open on Sundays too. But most people do online banking so who cares. But products are all the same really.

Try skilled worker first. If you can't get that one then go with masters. Coming as a PR would speed things up and make things cheaper for you.
