The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kano State has rejected the governorship primary election conducted on Monday by the Electoral Committee constituted by the party’s National Working Committee (NWC).

DAILY POST had reported that Sen. Rabiu Kwankwaso’s son in-law, Abba Kabir Yusuf emerged as PDP governorship candidate in the primary election.

However, the State Chairman of the party, Sen. Mas’ud Doguwa, described the election which was conducted by the committee headed by Ezeogu Emeka-Onuaha as null and void.

Doguwa explained that they had been in the PDP for quite some time and were conversant with the technicalities involved in conducting primary elections.

“With this attitude of impunity of enforcing candidates on members of the party, the national leadership of the party is doing nothing but paving way for the All progressives Congress (APC) to win elections in Kano State,” NAN quoted him as saying.

He added that a court had ordered that the party’s caretakers were operating illegally, yet they went ahead and conducted the governorship primaries, saying members of the party would not accept such illegality

The chairman, therefore, urged the National leadership of the party to ensure justice and fairness for the survival of the party in the state.

hmmm. at this stage,i think pdp should do away with kwakanso cos he's already overdoing things. the party should not give him their presidential ticket under any guise. first of all,his greed and demands forced shekarau and his supporters who had been in the party for long,out of the party and to join apc. now,his greed in having his son-in-law as gubernatorial candidate in kano,would further destabilize the pdp in kano. i think he might just be the mole from the apc coming in to weaken the party.

What is PDP in kano without kwankwasiyya

For me it is not a crime if a son take over from father or they re rotating it within one family since there is no constitution that goes against it and he/she can win in free and fair election but the problem I am having with Nigeria politicians is that the election will never be free and fair, they re ready to force their families members on the rest of the people either people like it or not, I take Okorocha as an example, see this one again. Somebody should please tell me different in Nigeria politicians or political party

If you dont know kano politics please don't comment on this. At times like this you can't please everybody kwankwaso was forced to show his preferred candidate among kwankwasiyya members, they then meet with the elders and chose Abba Kabir as the only kwankwasiyya candidate to participate in the primary election, the other candidates now resort to blackmail and profaganda against kwankwaso calling him an in-law to the candidate while they know kwankwaso never married his daughter to Abba Kabir

Kwankwaso shot himself for scrotum. How can he take this dicey step( imposing his son inlaw) at this material time when ppl see him as alternative to Pmb. Am sure this will affect his victory during Pdp presidential primary. A lot of people are beginning to loose confidence in him.
Moral of the lesson: Young ppl should learn from the mistakes of the elite to avoid embarrassment.
