Loratidine (I don't know if i got the spelling right) is what works for us.. very effective

The loratin I know is in tablet.

I think it has syrup I am not sure but I give my children the tablet. I simply cut it into 2 and give my baby.. maybe you shld ask for the syrup

neofylin has been prescribed for us a couple of times. Apart from the fact that there's research on the internet that says cough syrup is bad for babies, I don't think cough syrup even makes any difference on the cough. You can give a whole bottle and they would still be coughing even worse than before.
When my baby has serious cough, she always tests +ve for infection so we just treat with antibiotics. If the cough is not that serious, I try to keep her warm esp at night and I use honey and all the other home remedies.

It has to do with babies not being able to cough out the mucous and if the cough is surpressed, then there is a chance that the mucous will stay in the lungs and then they'll end up with pneumonia. Something in this line sha
