I wonder why some people think that Bianca should get automatic ticket because the late Ojukwu is her husband? It doesn't work like that in Igbo land. Ojukwus glory is for Ojukwu alone, he earned it. It is not something his wife or children can exploit for political gain when Ikemba is dead. It might have been possible when he was alive.

That Ojukwu is rightly revered across Igbo land does not been that Ndi Igbo will jettison their republicanism spirit for him. No. The Igbo man is not the Hausa or Yoruba man that troops behind someone, a deified figure, and constantly gives him support for good or bad. With the Igbo psyche, at EVERYTIME, you have to explain why you need support. It doesn’t get given to you on a blank cheque. This is Igbo Republicanism, right from the days of the ancestors.

Ndigbo do not have a herd mentality. It is not in Igbos. I can’t say if this Republican behaviour is right or not but certainly, within the Nigerian context, it is too advanced and subsequently, misunderstood and demonised.

Ojukwu has earned the right to be revered acrosss Igbo land. Bianca has not. Ojukwu’s children have not. In Igbo land, you make your own name. Being a wife to Ojukwu doesn’t automatically means that she has earned the right that her husband had. I’m sure, being Igbo, she realises this. Was she there when the genocide of Ndigbo was ongoing between 1967-1970? What role did she play?

It is no demystification. It is only another expression of Igbo Republicanism.

So how do they honour him? The 1st son is basically doing nothing significant. The wife who makes an attempt at smtn significant is shutdown.

I say it that Igbo are their worsts enemies, not Yoruba or Hausa or Fulani.

They lack political tact and cohesion and therefore can not move the region forward. So tell me how they shud honour ojukwu or u think they will just bestow smtn on any of them without trying or working for it?

All those petty honours given are more like mockery cos they have no significant effect on the nation or people

I think the issue they have is that she's not an indigene of their state but if she contests in Enugu she has a higher chance of securing the ticket.

You're a big fool. In Igboland, we don't now to one Baba unlike some people in the "waste" just because he's popular or he said people should bow for him. We believe in the principle of earning of respect and not demanding it. Even Ojukwu (an upright man) would not have supported his wife after joining the party two months ago thereby sidelining old members who have toiled and worked for the party progress in her dark moments.
