pazienza:You are fighting hard to redeem your honorific as an "encyclopedia" to some people here.... I challenge you to quote AT FULL LENGTH, the words of Achebe in PG 76. What you posted was not directly from his book. Nwannem, QUOTE ACHEBE VERBATIM. I'm waiting. |

basilo101:You are busted as anti Igbo and you want to discuss contemporary issues with who? Does this place look like ewedu thread? |
| Re: . by superlightning: 11:28am On Oct 05, 2018 |
BankeSmalls:Sorry nne, I meant "anyi" not "anti". It was an error from autocorrect in my phone keypad. Biko ghaharam. Bu and wu are the same na-asusu Igbo. Ha bu otu ihe. |

basilo101:Maybe, but you are an afonja here. |
| Re: . by pazienza(m): 11:32am On Oct 05, 2018 |
superlightning:What are you on about. You quoted Achebe out of context, and that's exactly what I corrected. Achebe praised Ndiigbo to high heavens, you know, the kind of praises that personally pains you, before offering a constructive criticism. But what the likes of you want is for us to give away our praises and accept only condemnations. You failed bro, move on. |

basilo101:And Jim Nwobodo |

BankeSmalls:Even if I am. You are free to present your own argument. Are we currently in same situation with isreal? Effiong blamed ojukwu for boasting on top of nothing. We were not even recognised sovereign nation then |

pazienza:I fight the Yoruba here on nairaland on almost a daily basis. I boast about my igboness any day anytime, but I am also not ignorant of our Achilles heel as igbos. |

| Re: . by Abagworo(m): 11:40am On Oct 05, 2018 |
BankeSmalls:You are suffering from delusion. Your name alone gives you out as not being deeply rooted in Igbo culture and religion hence you have no right to write anything about Igbo. My stand on Igbo issues is that I am absolutely against inclusion of Ika or Ikwerre in confidential Igbo discussions and I write it as someone with half Ikwerre blood. Igbos don't need anybody outside those who accept being Igbos to succeed not to talk of someone who hates and has denied his roots. Each time I write Igbo what I have in mind is Southeast, Oyigbo and Egbema from Rivers, Aniocha and Oshimili from Delta. |

BankeSmalls:Which Jim nwobodo? He may come in if we talk about Enugu city |
| Re: . by pazienza(m): 11:43am On Oct 05, 2018 |
superlightning:Still exhibiting your mischievous character. The part you highlighted were not made in isolation. They are a part of a long thought process. You can't take and present them in isolation in bid to demonize Ndiigbo. I had attached the rest of the thought process that led to the part you made bold.

You are the real deal. Whoa ![]() pazienza: |
| Re: . by superlightning: 11:48am On Oct 05, 2018 |
pazienza:There is nothing wrong with outlining our numerous achievement as a people, which Achebe magnificently did. There is also NOTHING WRONG with being cautious of our shortcomings as a people, which Achebe also consciously noted. So stop trying to be smart by half. You are (or should be) bigger than that |
| Re: . by superlightning: 11:51am On Oct 05, 2018 |
pazienza:Thank God you know that ACHEBE also wrote about OUR SHORTCOMINGS as a people in order for us to be cautious. So we must be mindful of that. Shikena. Achebe, a great man, acknowledged our shortcomings. Why can't you, ordinary you, acknowledge our shortcoming. Pride goes before a fall o.... |
| Re: . by basilo101: 11:53am On Oct 05, 2018 |
pazienza:What's your point? A thought process that highlighted our negative side, should amending our ways not be the first before we can have genuine complaints? |
| Re: . by superlightning: 11:57am On Oct 05, 2018 |
basilo101:My brother don't mind pazienza, he is only trying hard to save face and to save his "encyclopedia" status. He is now talking as if we were against we Igbos enumerating our achievement as a people. As a people we should be mindful of what Achebe stated in page 76. Pazienza loves attention in naira land....Lol...e dey e body. |

Abagworo:And if the Ikwerre joins us the Agbor in returning all our loyalty to our Igbo roots, who are you to say no? For me and my entire family, we are Igbos. Nothing anyone can do about that. |
| Re: . by Chef2000: 12:05pm On Oct 05, 2018 |
Abagworo:The woman is always pointing fingers on you as a suspect, why |
| Re: . by BankeSmalls(f): 12:09pm On Oct 05, 2018 |
Chef2000:Because there has never been any popular Igbo policy thrust he will ever support. I remember the night Nnamdi Kanu s house was invaded. Abagworo posted here on nairaland that we got him. He went on to say that they have gotten him forever in a tone of jubilation, ask yourself, which Igbo man can do that?I can name more examples of his caustic stance on igbo matters. |
