@AzeD1 and @BOSS13 we can all stop at this point. While you warriors were fighting valiantly over my matter I received my answers.
Thanks again.
Now let's sheath swords.

Well I certainly think you are the foolish one here. Someone with child is asking for survival technique on minimum wage. That alone is a disaster and because you are a stupid and ignorant Nigerian and do not know how difficult it can be here, you have failed to understand my line of thought.

I pity the people who spent money to send you to school.
Someone is asking for survival techniques on minimum wage and you are asking for something else.

If there's no other parent, would she not survive on minimum wage?
The person asking the question knows why she asked but Mr Amebo wants to know more rather than give answers to the questions asked.

Learning to program is learning to solve problems. An example is learning to communicate rather than learning English or French. Of course you would need a language to communicate but they are two different things.

Same with programming, its learning to solve problems with computers and most times one would use a programming language but people who just learn a programming language can only solve problems in the context of the programming language they learnt. Their problem solving skills is built around the language they learnt.

On the other hand those who learn to program, try to solve the problems independent of a programming language, when they have a solution they use the best language to implement.

TD bank is having a talent hunt this week in Ottawa, I put it in my last post but it was removed and I was banned by the anti spam bot.

This is the AZeD1 I know.
But, I am wondering what has happened over his head today to immerse himself into an unnecessary fight.
Please bro AZeD1, you have been a meaningful member of this thread. We need you back. Stop fighting.

Young fool - read your comment again. A typical ignorant Nigerian who does not know you, yet wants to bring your parents into the discussion. Certainly depicts how you were brought up. If I give you my LinkedIn profile and you finish reviewing it, do you think you would be able to respond to me again - I’m not bragging and I’m willingly to give you my LinkedIn profile so that you can have an idea and ascertain my educational and professional exposure and experience to yours.

May I remind you that you have neither provided any assistance nor responded to the question, yet you continue to express moronic tendencies that encapsulate your entire whole being.

A landed immigrant is qualified for OSAP. Either grant + loan or grant only.

OSAP doesn't just pay for your tuition. It also pays for your living expenses.
Find out if you qualify as a new immigrant. IF you do qualify, they can pay you more than 30K per year. And when you done school, you may have to pay back less than 15K.
Even if you already pay full tuition, you will still get OSAP if you qualify for it. [/quote]

Airfrance/KLM also have a bus service that would drop you at the train station in Ottawa if you fly with them

To answer your question Madam properly, before I was interrupted. Surviving on minimum wage as a student is difficult. On a positive note, your tuition is already being paid for. If you are on a student visa, you would be restricted on the number of hours to work. If you are a PR, there are flexible programs that can support you.

The amount you get from OSAP (grant on loan) is dependent on your course and program duration. This is available for PR. Explore this option if your a PR. If you are not, there are other programs that can support you - Charitable organization for minority. I don’t know the province you are going to, and before nosy demented creatures poke their noses again, do not be afraid to ask questions. Visit service organizations, each province have welfare programs that can assist you, including accommodation. It may be tough but tough people last longer.

By the way, she is in Ontario ... and it seems like she is a single mother meaning she will be getting the Canada child benefit each month.

She can't be on welfare as a full time student.
Welfare will ask her to apply for OSAP in Ontario
The amount OSAP paid each year is dependent on her income and not on the course nor the program duration.
Given that she hadn't filed any tax yet, I am sure she will get a HUGE amount this year.
However, she can accept the grant and return the loan if I am not mistaken. I am sure the amount of grant alone will be enough to cover her living expenses.

That’s means she is a permanent resident. Like I said the amount she gets depends on the course and duration. However, Ontario government officials are sympathetic to single mothers and may assist her to get a good sum. There are other programs for single mothers, all she needs to do is visit the Ontario Service Centre close to her or Newcomer offices. They would also direct her to Charitable organizations that can provide her with aid, free accommodation, clothing and even furniture. These are actually provided to new comers, but no accommodation for newcomers. She can also apply for after school daycare subsidy where her child can wait for her till she is done for the day. Child care Subsidy is free too.

In Canada, more Particularly Ontario - you need to ask. If you don’t ask, nobody would direct you. With grant, child benefit and part time job, she can live a normal life. However, I don’t know how she would cope with studies and child care. It really tough for even a two parenthold here. Oh there are some religious centers that can also assist too - Non Nigerian centers (those ones are after your offering and tithes). Don’t be ashamed to ask, you would be shocked. Some of these churches have accommodations.

Like I have said - Ask and you shall receive.

- Now to the young idiot who was asking why I want to know. A clearer picture ensue a clearer and direct answer.

Apart from the availability of jobs (i.e. some types of jobs are not just available outside big cities), I do not see an advantage of a big city over a small one. Big cities being Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary e.t.c.
In big cities, wages are becoming low, jobs are very competitive (even survival ones), and cost of living continues to rise.

oh so I am not the only one who had to check twice that I wasn't on the wrong thread.

To be frank, I didn't see anything wrong with Boss13 question. Not a few times on the journey of Express Entry have we had to ask what would normally be intrusive questions, but these questions help one know the best for someone of that profile. It's much like how a doctor has to be somewhat poky to diagnose. if we all have to be assuming, we would go on giving generic answers that may turn out to be an ill advise.

A case in point, in making a choice of where to settle down, those I consulted usually start out asking my marital status/family composition. I have had folks say to me "Why choose to live in ZZZ like me, if I were single like you YYY is where I would have gone".

That said, in the absence of a context to inform the motive of Boss13's question, AZeD1 like most people may not have any choice than to infer based on the normal day to day experience. In that sense, it can only seem intrusive... but we should get accustomed to the fact that to counsel someone on a life imparting matter like the ones discussed on here, it is only wise to have all data that are crucial to decision making. More importantly, no one is paid for the service here and we do not want to frighten or punish people for attempting to aid us.

Communicating in text is hard, even for very good writers; lots of meanings can be misconstrued and it can easily cause the reader to be cynical of one's intents. However succinct our communication style maybe, conflicts and misunderstandings can not be extricated from human relationships, we can only reduce how often it occurs and resolve them when they do. I believe AzDe1 and Boss13 can resolve this squabble if they understand that they were only playing the role we all must play as pawns in the inexorable game of human conflict. It's no one's fault really, it's natural for things like this to happen where two or more humans are gathered.

Yes, you are right. I chose that option too. Once they've calculated one's funding and all documents have been approved, then one will be allowed to choose the "No Loan" option.

The lady wrote "family of two" and even specifically stated "one parent" and "one child". Even when filling forms, there are different options for marital status: "Miss", "Mrs" and "Ms". The person can choose whichever is applicable to her. Boss13 can choose to answer the question based on the information given and the lady can also choose to give more information if needed. Anyway, case closed.

Even if he just landed, I didn’t know just landing is a bad thing or something to mock someone for. People are just landing from other developed countries as well. Not everyone on this thread is migrating from Nigeria. People migrate for so many other reasons. But it says a lot about someone’s personality that he thinks a person just landing is beneath them and shouldn’t have an opinion.

Did you mention your marital status when you asked them the question? I'm sure the answer is No. That means your case is not applicable here because she stated hers (even though not directly). Do you know that some single mothers might not feel too comfortable asking questions here or an open forum just because of the question Boss13 asked? Yes, that is true because some are introverts who doesn't really like sharing much details about themselves on an open forum.
