For a second time, Nigeria has been ranked the most unequal country in the world with the least commitment to fighting inequality between its rich and poor population by OXFAM, a global civil society body that fights against injustice and its partners.

The Oxfam’s Commitment to Reducing Inequality (CRI) Index assesses 157 countries on their commitment and measures their efforts in social spending on essential services, taxation and labour policies.

"Nigeria has the unenviable distinction of being at the bottom of the Index for the second year in a row. Its social spending (on health, education and social protection) is shamefully low, which is reflected in very poor social outcomes for its citizens." Oxfam said

“One in 10 children in Nigeria does not reach their fifth birthday, and more than 10 million children do not go to school. Sixty percent of these are girls,” the report said
The index titled Commitment to Reducing Inequality Index (CRI Index) shows that in the past year Nigeria has seen an increase in the number of labour rights violations. The minimum wage has not increased since 2011 and that the social spending has stagnated.

The CRI Index shows that there is still significant potential for Nigeria to raise and collect more tax, so it scores very badly on this aspect too. There have however been very recent improvements in this area in 2018, which will show up in next year’s CRI.

“The IMF has given clear advice on the importance of tackling inequality, referring to Nigeria’s score in the CRI Index. The president of the country has also said that tackling inequality is important, as inequality leads to political instability. Yet little has been done,” the report said.

Denmark tops this year’s CRI Index with the highest score. The northern European country has some of the most progressive taxation policies in the world. It also has some of the best labour market policies, and its protection of women in the workplace is the best in the world.

Other countries with high inequality ranking include; Uzbekistan-156, Haiti-155, Chad-154 and Sierra Leone -153.

Without justice, you can't get equality.

Without equality; poverty sets in.

When poverty sets in; crimes like corruption, robbery, fraud, prostitution become the order of the day.

You know the rest na.

Nigeria has been the world's capital where it's okay to cheat and discriminate against fellow countrymen and think it's a service to "one Nigeria". But the consequence is the reason we are still here today.

I think that's the formula keeping Nigeria one to the detriment of the people(poor)
If u don't allow the rich to have their way the would use the poor to disrupt the activities of other rich.

So the best is to put the rich in one cubicle while the poor on one side and everybody is happy.

Then who suffers most?

*Second year in a row* means 2017 and 2018.
Guess who is the president at these times; the lifeless one.

Governance is no propaganda, rather facts and measurable results.

I love Buhari as an Army General, but dislike him as democratic President.

Lets join the Atikulated Movement sweeping across the Niger Area.

How well do you know Atiku? For all we know he could turn out worse than Buhari; Which isn't farfetched at all.

For now, that's the only option we have, until the whole country especially the north is educated enough to know another party exists.

The illiteracy in the north, would make it almost impossible to vote a diplomat not in pdp or APC as they vote by religion line and party too.

So join me let's articulate, even though he may be like Buhari, but he can't be Buhari.

I think he's making empty promises. He'd still use the illiteracy of the north to his advantage; nothing new there. Don't expect automatic redemption. I'm just baffled by how self acclaimed educated southerners fall for these cheap lies. Atiku's thirst is conspicuous.

Education is key.

Literacy (in every way you can think of) is key.

Nigerians have come to accept these things sadly. We are too tolerant of this disorganised society we find ourselves, which is bad.

If he is making empty promises, what Buhari and APC made was non-existent.

We just have to chose between the devil dn the deep blue sea.

But guess what, the deep blue sea can have survivors, while the devil is eternal.

Join me brother, let's articulate the already Aticulated atmosphere with atiku2019....

because no middle class.

The D.V.C of a federal university in Nigeria told me today that since 2016, the have not been able to hire new staffs and there have been paying their current staffs half salaries and that they have just this month paid their staff full salary due to the university's internally generated revenue. I was shocked that the decay in Nigeria, has reached such levels.
