But what kind of legit transaction is a governor conducting that requires handling such a sum in cash? When he's not a trader
None .. but you know these people in Nigeria can spin a web of lies which would be difficult to prove in court

This is annoying.

So I am not supposed to believe what I saw with my eyes?so this is what the best brains in Kano came up with to defend the Governor?

The Kano State house of Assembly, should as a matter of public trust, ask for the resignation of the Governor, or start the process of his impeachment.

This is not a PDP or an APC matter. We just saw a current Governor of a State, collecting BRIBE on Video, and aside him telling us we should not believe our own eyes, he wants to somehow blame the opposition party as the cause of him collecting the bribe.

This man is a National Disgrace.
The Speaker, Deputy Speaker, and majority Leader are also implicated in one of the videos.

With Buhari in power ,nothing will happen to this governor unless the people in that state revolt against him.

And that's why i do not like to argue with some of you people , Buhari is not EFCC or Police , if Buhari gives the order then my vote is against Buhari , You can't conclude you know someone just because he has not been satisfying you

If for any political reason Buhari shields this man , there must be a reason , but who gives a shyyyt , this is more than enough evidence to bury both the guy and the contractor

BTW

When Buhari stopped Police from arresting Adeleke over forged certificate / exams , You didn't paint him black

Politics is about interest , but if Buhari let's this guy go ... i will be very disappointed

Just wait and see.
So despite the fact that the police ,efcc, sss have been in possession of this videos for the last 2-3 weeks and yet they have not done anything about it ,that still doesn't speak volumes to you? Maybe we should wait for one year and see if they will take any concrete action, after all we have a Baba go slow at the helms of affairs ,maybe he needs 12 months to think about what to do
The videos are been circulated after the person who leaked it to the authorities saw that they were not going to take any action on it .

Fair enough. We need to know further details like who the contractor was and the contract that was executed. And why the money was being handed to the governor in parts like it was a donation from several donors. The governor on his part should be able to recognize the video and tell us who he was dealing with and what exactly was going on instead of dismissing it as cloned.

A man clearly seen tucking/padding/inserting wads of dollar bills inside his agbada.
So i should believe the video was doctored as in animated to look real.

Like play like play, this video may actually be authentic.
For the fact that the Kano goverment dared new Nigerian with a law suit and they still posted it shows they are sure of its genuineness.
The governor however enjoys immunity so the APC government and efcc will use that as an excuse to say they are handicapped
The house of assembly is not handicap, impeachment proceedings should commence immediately or the governor should be asked to resign. When the whole world see this video and PMB is shouting I am fighting corruption it makes us all look like fools before the world. What a shame.

Illiterate! There's a big difference between investigation and interrogation! Dumb doffus that has refused to learn. Use your dictionary at least before embarrassing yourself. You don't need any physical contact before carrying out an investigation. Fayose has been investigated already on crimes bordering on the ekiti farm and the dasuki. Investigations has been ongoing for a long time. Olodo rakpata! He doesn't need to be invited for that.Akpa amu!
You are the illiterate, because I emphasized it for you , at a point in investigating interrogation would come in , none was done for Fayose ...

But EFCC Froze the accounts of the Benue state and Akwa ibom state government and the reason they gave was that both governors were under investigation.

Infact, the benue state government challenged this reason in court, and the court ruled that indeed the EFCC has powers to investigate a state government's activities.

What has changed between then and now?

Or is it because it is now an APC governor that ought to be investigated and not a PDP governor?
maybe I should remind you that Fayose challenged EFCC in court that they have no power to investigate a sitting governor, and he won in court, his bank account that was frozen was ordered in court to be unfrozen... do you remember or you still want to argue ?

So when did the president become efcc or icpc or why did you quote me?

Someone stated that Buhari should investigate and I said it's not his Job to do, you jumped in to say it was a lie. Aren't you the kid here?

Bunch of children everywhere!
MaziOmenuko:
Jungle tout, it's the work of Efcc to investigate. And nobody is immune to investigation; you can be immune to prosecution but not investigation. A lot of governors are currently under investigation, some even had their accounts frozen still while at office.

Kids everywhere!

The difference between that scenerio and mine was that fayose's personal bank accounts were frozen, in my scenerio State government accounts were frozen (as in state treasury itself).

The court held in the case of fayose, that he was immune from prosecution as a sitting governor, hence freezing his personal accounts was unwarranted.

In the case of Benue which is much more recent than Fayose's case, the court held that EFCC had the right to investigate the activities of a state government.

Why are they not eager to investigate the activities of the Kano state government, like they are currently doing for Akwa ibom and Benue?

sophsia62:
The Kano State government has declared that the video showing Governor Abdullahi Ganduje allegedly collecting stacks of dollars in bribe was doctored.
Commissioner for Information in the state, Muhammad Garba, said this in a rejoinder issued Sunday evening.

The state government held a similar position some days ago after news broke that the video would soon be in circulation.

“We wish to state that there is no iota of truth to these allegations and if indeed there is any such alleged video, it is at best cloned,” it had said.

The video trending on social media has got many Nigerians talking especially at a time the Buhari government has slammed a travel ban on some Nigerians accused of corruption.

But, according to Garba, the video was “cloned, doctored, disjointed” and that it was deliberately released to “affect the anticipated quantum of APC votes from Kano in 2019”.

He said: “Kano state government has decided to file a criminal case against an online publication Daily Nigerian and its publisher on defamation of character after it released a clone and doctored video footage mischievously portraying Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje involved in an inappropriate conduct.

“The Office of the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice is challenging the implausible and eccentric posting of the cloned video that went viral in a court of law considering the gravity of the caricature, which indicates the extent to which mischievous elements can go to discredit public figures by wielding non-existent scandals against them.

“A mere observation of the cloned video clearly shows that the video is doctored and disjointed with no material facts or evidence to prove the allegations, other than a callous attempt to tarnish the hard earned image of the office and the person of the Governor.
“The Governor of Kano State wishes to once again emphatically debunk the allegation of receiving gratification of $5Million or any amount whatsoever from any person or body.

“It is important to draw the attention of the general public to the fact that the alleger is a serial blackmailer and extorter.

“We are also aware that the hidden motive is to reduce the popularity of the Governor and consequently affect the anticipated quantum of APC votes from Kano in the 2019 general elections.

“While the state government is taking the legal action, we wish to assure the good people of Kano that His Excellency will remain focus and continue with laudable programmes that will add value to the lives of the people of Kano State.

“We also call on the general public, especially members of the APC to remain calm and always be law abiding.”

Shameful punks. Another "it is a photoshopped video" foolishness. One would have expected a more sensible denial claiming the money wasnt a bribe. Since the news broke, they had enough time to make up a good story. But this is the best denial they can come up with? Tufia!

Sincerely how did I know they were investigating Benue and Akwa ibom?

Because right after they announced they were investigating Akwa ibom and Benue state, both state treasuries were frozen, and they had no publicly available leads.

In this case, which is the kano state government, they had this lead, which is even on youtube as we speak, but they didnt rush to announce nor freeze any accounts

Infact, intel available to me suggests, that they had the videos over 2 weeks ago, but announced no investigation .

President Buhari himself saw this videos exactly 6days ago at state house (based on the Intel leaked to me by a friend and former colleague), yet nothing has been formally announced.

Why? I will tell you why?

In every Presidential election, there are 3 prized jewel as far as the ballot is concerned. Rivers State, Lagos State and Kano.

River State is firmly under wike's/PDP's grip, Lagos is firmly under tinubu's grip, Kano is shaking.

APC used to be in full control of Kano whe kwakwanso was with APC, now that he left APC, Kano is not sure like before, to affect or tamper with the current APC structure which is tied to Ganduje, may weaken their chances in kano at the polls, that is why Ganduje's case is a serious matter that they need serious diplomacy to handle.

Don't be surprised, that they will never do anything to Ganduje until after the elections, to avoid stories that touch potential ballot papers, that is if they even have any intention to do anything.

I can bet my last Euro that the video is a cloned affair! Why should Ganduje receive every bundle from the Giver before he puts the bundles on the table? The normal thing to do would have been Ganduje asking the Giver to put all the bundles on the table directly! Again, what's the need for the Governor to put the money in his pocket, since the transaction apparently took place in his office? In addition, the amount of light that falls on the Receiver's agbada is not proportional to the amount of light that falls on his face. Why is the head so dark? Finally, each movement of the head of the Receiver isn't natural; it's mechanical. I wager this an amateurish effort.
office ke! A governor's office is super open to d workers there like his PA and cleaners e.t.c....its better to take d money home to kiss it
