A communication satellite in the orbit is located at a height of 3200 km above the earth surface. What is :
1. Speed of satellite in it?
2. Period of revolution of satellite?.

Radius of the earth = 6.378 × 10^6 m
Mass of the earth = 5.97 × 10^24 kg
height of satellite = 3200 × 10^3 m

1)
Using the formula
(V^2)/r = (GM)/r^2

therefore V = 6449m/s

2) using the formula
T = 2πr/V
T = 9330sec
