Rivers State APC Crisis Deepens as Court of Appeal refuses to set aside judgment of PH High Court with the Justice Nwogu judgment still subsisting, Rivers State APC has no governorship, senatorial, HOR or Assembly candidates the party has no legally recognised state, LG or ward executives pending conclusion of legal tussle The crisis rocking the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State deepened on Monday as the Court of Appeal, Port Harcourt Division declined the request of the Rotimi Amaechi faction to set aside the judgment of the Rivers State High Court nullifying the governorship, national assembly and state assembly primaries. The Court of Appeal, instead directed the Amaechi faction and the 23 Aggrieved APC members to await the outcome of an interlocutory appeal at the Supreme Court on the protracted legal battle for the embattled soul of the APC. Presiding Justice, Justice Isaiah Akeju made the pronouncement on the request by counsel to the 23 Members of the Rivers APC that their appeal on an earlier ruling of the court was still pending. It will be recalled that the Rivers State High Court presided over by Justice Chinwendu Nwogu also dissolved the Rivers State APC State Executive Committee, the Local Government Working Committees and the Wards Working Committees. With the development at the Court of Appeal, Port Harcourt Division, lawyers on both sides have continued with their deafening arguments as confusion reigns following the failure of the Appeal Court to make a definite pronouncement. With the Judgment of the Rivers State High Court still subsisting on the Rivers State APC Crisis, the party still has no governorship, senatorial, House of Representatives or House of Assembly candidates for the 2019 General elections.
